The wife and I were looking for a restaurant for date night. Did some searching and found Terry Mercantile Steak Co. Once we... got seated we immediately fell in love with the place. Very cozy and warm, owner and manger was super nice. Food was reallygood and we will be back. For something not a chain, give it a try. Read more

Had a reservation for dinner celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary. We were all there on time. Tables were waiting. Nice... decor. There was someone playing music that was pleasant. Took 10 minutes before anyone took our drink orders (and oneappetizer). Took 20 minutes before drinks were brought. Another 10 minutes before orders were taken. No appetizer yet. After20 more minutes, had to flag someone down for drink refills. That's 30 minutes after drinks were brought without anyonechecking on our drinks. A few minutes later, salads are brought. Appetizer finally came after the salads. 30 minutes afterthe refills, our meals began filtering out. For those counting that's 1-1/2 hours to start getting meals. Took about 10 minutesfor everyone to get their meal. Despite the wait, the appetizer, fried crab claws, was pretty good. The sweet and spicy saucethat they came with was tasty. That was the highlight of the meal for me. The salads were forgetable and notably inconsistent. I think I had four pieces of some bitter green. Some of us got croutons. Some of us had some cheese. My comeback sauce wastasty. The serving staff kept trying to pass off other orders of strip steaks as the ribeye I ordered. I did eventually get aribeye, though it was cooked medium well rather than medium rare. Other than being overcooked it had good flavor. Had a littletoo much fat. Had it been cooked correctly I suspect it would have been delicious. The potatoe was dry and hard. First timein memory I didn't eat all of my potatoe. My wife's filet was cut in half so that it was very flat and then cooked well done. Again, seems as though it would have been quite tasty if it had been cooked appropriately. This place really needs to findsomeone who can cook steaks to order. You can't pass yourself off as a premium steakhouse and not be able to cook steaks. Mydaughter's seafood gumbo was barely edible. It had both undercooked and overcooked rice. There was s Read more

Food was pretty good. Service was not very good. We rarely saw our waitress. Neither of our steaks were cooked as we requested... and the side items were put on the wrong plates. We were given a discounted meal for the bad service without having to ask forit. Will definitely give them another opportunity. Read more

Went in for Brunch and they were only serving spaghetti and meat balls and beef tips and gravy. I asked about the online Brunch... menu and the mimosas, etc and the lady acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, and was extremely rude as well. Shestarted to argue with me that what was out on the board today should be what?s on the online menu, but it wasn?t. I?m sure thespaghetti and beef tips were good, but when people see brunch they think of a brunch not a dinner menu. The food has been greatthere before, the service and the attitudes are just really bad. Read more

My husband and I came here on a pretty quiet night. I think there were about 4 or 5 tables sitting. My food was brought out... before my husband's and it was hot and tasted good. My husband didn't get his steak until about 30 minutes later. They broughtout the wrong, cheaper steak, but thankfully my husband knows his cuts. He sent back the wrong steak and got the right cut about10 minutes later, but it was purple on the inside and pretty inedible. The baked potato was cold because it was the same onethat he was sent originally with the wrong steak. He sent the steak back and just ended up picking up fast food on the way home,as it had been 2 hours at this point and I was finished eating. The manager took the steak off the ticket (because it wasn'teaten) and gave us dessert and a $25 gift certificate, but I'm not sure we will try again. I will say that our waitress wassweet and did a good job and the manager was apologetic. Overall a very subpar experience, especially for the price and the factthat my husband didn't even get to eat. Was not the first time I ate here. The first it was not bad , was worth a second trip. Last night we did a second trip and was... highly disappointed. Our server was sweet and attentive. We started with BBQ shrimp, well we got 6 shrimp that were so burntthey were black. They corrected the order BUT we only got 4 property cooked shrimp that took a while to come out. With thatInconsistency and only two other tables we left to go eat somewhere else. They were a few other issues and being a manager at arestaurant I thought it was best we left. Read more

This was a wonderful place to dine! Can?t believe I hadn?t previously been here! Everything we ordered was amazing! I had the... fried green tomato BLT with pimento and cheese and bacon appetizer. AWESOME!!! We also loved the crab claws with comebacksauce. My 8oz filet was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, juicy and tender to be well done like I like - so they did anoutstanding job! The fudge brownie for dessert was topped with ice cream and SOOOOO GOOD!!!! They also had live entertainment. The service was exceptional. Really cool ambiance and decor. We WILL be back!!! Highly recommend. Read more

Definitely a cool place with a nice atmosphere. The decor on the walls was a nice touch that told the history of the building... and the town. We were seated right away. Hayden was our server, the young man was very good for his age. He was knowledgeableabout the dishes and extremely polite, respectful, and attentive. As a restaurant manager, I critique from a differentperspective than most. I asked if I could try the bacon pimento cheese with pork rinds and he obliged with no problem. It was avery good, unique flavor combination. I love seeing things on a menu that I have never seen before and that one was definitely ahit. The chef has great taste. Next was the turkey tamales OMG I just started eating tamales about a year ago so I haven't had alot but these were the best I've had, moist and perfectly seasoned, served with hot sauce and sour cream. My husband ordered the16 oz ribeye with loaded backed potato ($35) it was a thin cut of meat but was cooked to perfection. He complimented the factthat the meat was quality without fat and grissel and that it tasted good without alot of seasoning. I had the redfishpontatrain with lump crab, shrimp and Cajun cream sauce ($31) It was the perfect portion for me but may had been skimp forsomeone who has a larger appetite. The Cajun cream sauce was unique, it had mushrooms and was like no other cream sauce I'vetasted which I like. The redfish was slightly overcooked but overall it was good. My sides were parm cheese stone ground gritswhich were the perfect pairing and a salad which surprisingly came standard with blue cheese. My only gripe is the price for theportion but will definitely go back because of the quality. Read more
