Italian restaurants in the Boston area need to be good and this one blew me away! Tucked into a strip mall off of busy Route 38... in Tewksbury, Al Fresca was busy and bustling on a Thursday night. The first thing you notice when you walk in is all the awardsand accolades on the walls. They are well earned. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Large bar area, hi-tops, tables, andbooths. Wonderful menu with traditional Italian fare and an impressive list of daily specials. Lauren the bartender was amazing!Reservations highly recommended! Al Fresca?s was very good. The restaurant is cozy and the wait staff is very nice. It is a little dark and loud inside. The food... can take a while to come out but they offer homemade pasta and it is delicious! The parking lot is very small though. Expect todo a few laps before you get a spot. It was okay. I had take out and had to run back in when there was no silverware. I got some pasta and chicken which was okay and... a side salad. The pasta dish, pollo farfalle, was missing flavor, when I got home I realized it might have to do with a lot ofoil use, I didn?t finish it. The service here was excellent. The food is very well prepared, and the inside of the restaurant is clean, well kept, and... lighting is subdued (like candlelight). My only complaint is the abundance of complicated items on the menu, and limited numberof staples. Their food and drink menu does contain many items that can best described as fun and interesting to try. Moreover,if you read the menu and prices ahead of time (from their website), or don't expect an Olive Garden menu, I'd recommend thisplace. Read more
