Goodness, I've been twice in two weeks! I'll need a couple more trips under my belt before I have all of their sauces properly... tested...but y'all, this is good BBQ! The pulled pork is super tasty, and they have many of the traditional sides you wouldexpect a southern barbecue restaurant to have. On top of that, everyone can help themselves to their hearts content of pintobeans. Each time I've gone it's been a shortly before closing, and I'm still being served fresh food. Fresh! We come to Texarkana sometimes twice per month for doctor appointments. We?ve eaten at all of the Big Jakes in town. Today, we... had lunch at the Arkansas Blvd location. Maybe the most moist and tender brisket I?ve ever eaten. Always fast and friendlyservice and some of the best ?que in the four states area. We love it. Read more

We swung by while on vacation and it was delicious!! The prices were high like all restaurants these days, but well within range... for everywhere else we went on our trip. I ordered the brisket and ribs. The brisket was great, but the ribs were fantastic! Getthe ribs or get the two meat special and pick ribs for both. We finished up with an apricot fried pie and it was tasty too. Thestaff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant (including restroom) was notably clean. Menu says 1 meat with baked potato and 1 side. When they rang it up, it sounded high. I got back to my table and realized they... charged me two dollars extra for the sliced beef. The menu does not say only chicken, and they don?t tell you it?s two dollarsextra. So watch you ticket at big Jake?s. So 11.99 for a potato and sliced beef rather than the 9.99 that?s on the menu. Awesome little place to grab lunch. BBQ is delicious with several sauces to choose from. My favorite was the spicy!
Poor portions. The manager which is a female was rude. Showed no empathy at all. Was not courteous at all. Sometimes listen to... the customer and explain how the restaurant portion out thr food. However. I've had lunch portions served in larger quantities. Read more
