We just had an amazing 21st Anniversary dinner here! First off, the place is beautiful, clean and very spacious with just the... right lighting for a romantic setting. We were greeted with smiles and directed to a table right when we walked in, followed byour waitress asking us what we wanted to drink. They have a very impressive menu of whiskeys, wines, mixed drinks and also manybeers. We ordered 2 appetizers, bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cheese and duck drizzled with house made ranch and also thelobster and shrimp dip which was a nice cheesy fluffy dip that you spread on crouton style crackers. Both were amazing! For ourmain course we went with their French dip and a mushroom Swiss burger. Both were very delicious. The quality of their food is 10star in my opinion and head and shoulders above any other restaurant in Texarkana, very happy to have tried this gem! Read more

The best ribeye steak I've had in my life. My wife and I try steak houses in almost every town we visit. We travel for work... and we've been to every state east of the Miss and many to the West. Even Mallory's in San Antonio wasn't this good. 10/10 forthe meal. The cocktails are QUITE unique. A lot of thought and planning goes into them. Our current trip has been about 4kmiles so far and this has been the best meal by far. Possibly the best we've ever had. And again, the steak was the best I'vehad possibly in my life. Truly a testament to Texas cooking. The blondie dessert was to die for. Absolutely amazing to topoff the meal. I'm not sure if their ice cream is homemade or not, but it was very unique and not something I've tasted before. Read more

We celebrated Valentine's day at this fabulous restaurant. The entire night was well worth the 2 hour travel time. A very... friendly staff; coupled with the ambiance, were the ingredients of an awesome evening. The owner personally visited our table. We enjoyed his very engaging conversation to welcome us for our first visit. He invited us to return to their Sunday brunch;held the last Sunday of each month. Great one-on-one customer attention and appreciation. Everything on the menu is a must try.Our waitress, Summer, guided us through the menu. She was professional, friendly and observant. We never wanted for anything.. Read more

This place has a reputation of being "expensive" I totally disagree. The quality of the food, the amazing service, the ambiance,... it's not much more than any other "upper" restaurant in Texarkana. I have been here twice and have had great food and greatservice each time. Highly recommend. Very unique for a Texarkana market. I know the chef and manager specifically moved back toto the area to do this. Very good people. Read more

Well, it took me 10 days to finally write this review because I was too disappointed and wanted to write an 'unemotional'... review. We saw many ads on TV about Benchmark and decided to visit last weekend. It started out really well, friendly reception, friendly service even thw owner came to our table to greet us. We ordered the Lobster and Shrimp dip which was ok. We thenordered the French onions soup and the French Vanilla salad; having been to France and tasted authentic French Onion soup, thisone was just below average. Bread crums were too big,, not crunchy and the cheese was too clunky. The salad was good andfresh. The main courses were the Spanish blackened Mahi and the Filet de Boeuf both on a bed of sun dried tomato risotto, shredded broccoli and snow peas for the latter. Unfortunately neither one of our main dishes would make us come back. Therisotto was too dry, the fish was good. The steak dish was $60 (menu said 'market price'). Now we've had many $50 plus steaksover the past several years foreign and domestic and the Benchmark filet did not compare to any of them and was hopelesslyoverpriced (see pic). We really had high hopes based on the reviews...oh well. On to the next adventure Read more

Excellent French based meals. The Jalapeño Duck appetizers are incredible. Tried the duck as a main course as well. Not... bad, bit of an acquired taste. The potato side dish is great as well. One observation is that they use extremely freshspices like they had plucked them from the garden (rosemary was excellent). Not a restaurant for loading up like a crawfishboil. Definitely a place for a refined palate. Portions are decent but also more aligned to European sizes so don't expectleftovers. Read more
