First off, anything less than 5 stars is someone having a bad day. This place is phenomenal. The servings are appropriate - if... not extra - leaving you full and happy for your money?s worth! Robert introduced himself, as well as his family who work at thecounter as well as boh. He chatted with customers as if they were family, bringing joy to the atmosphere. Pros: Great customer service, took time to order Brisket cooked well, Rib Tips fall off the bone Toast under the meat was... good Cons: Greens too watery or vinegary Sweet potatoes too sweet and runny Corn bread meh Sausage meh BBQ sauces inconsistent.Some sweeter then the other. Been in Texas for 4 years, needless to say I have found it hard to find good food. Googled bbq near me on a whim and this place... popped up. Once I seen greens on the Sunday menu I had to give it a try. Greens are always hit or miss, but this was a hit.Seasoned just right!!!! Ribs were amazing not dry. I love when my ribs are sauced while cooked. Chicken was not dry and Mac ncheese was good as well. I will definitely be back for a turkey leg. Service was amazing too. Read more

I was so surprised.....this place inside is so clean and comfortable.....very nice! I met the Owners and they are so... friendly. I had Pulled Pork and Brisket and the Smoked Mac N Cheese, which was amazing.....my whole meal was great and I lovedthe bread too! Just alright, nothing spectacular. The two males I interacted with were very nice and friendly. The lady dropping off sauce and... silverware at the table was kinda off putting. Said thank you twice as she brought different things out and didn't get anacknowledgement. Maybe she didn't hear. ???????. On to the food: The great - Sweet Tea and Texas toast - both were cracklevels of goodness. Good - ribs - tender, with a slightly spicy tangy glaze, almost feel by trying to be different and standout the ribs suffer by not going with a more traditional approach. Alright - brisket Mac and cheese - no big bites of brisket,cheese flavor doesn't come through strong enough, (asked for no sauce on it) tastes like mushy brisket. Forgettable - sausage -cheddar jalapeno sausage isn't an option here, so had a basic sausage link, but it tasted more like breakfast sausage?? Reallyodd and off putting. Napkins - were like sand paper, don't think I've felt napkins that rough, RIP your nose if it comes tothat. More so leaning to 4.5 stars rather than 5 stars. I tried the brisket, ribs and sausage of the 3; the ribs comes out at #1... followed by sausage. The brisket was good however, it was bordering on cool to warm temperature which was the only negativefactor. The brisket mac n cheese was very good and both the peach and apple cobbler were very good. The service was goodhowever, the time from order to delivery was delayed which could be the reason why the brisket was not warm. Both the ownersstopped by to say hello and were friendly. The one area which they could improve is to deliver the food hot to the table. Thisone improvement will get 5 stars... I will be visiting again and try it out... The best brisket sandwich ! They're new here and only open on the weekends. The brisket is heavenly and the sauce is a little... sweet and smokey. The fried okra was done well. They have a full menu with indoor dining and patio. You should eat here. Theystarted serving a catfish special so we'll stop by again soon. Read more

Looking for a nice BBQ restaurant in The Colony? There is a small gem in the city known as Flatrock Smokehouse BBQ. I was... informed of a soft opening today before their "Grand Opening" coming Monday. I decided to order brisket, sausage , French friesand coleslaw. The Brisket was very tender and juicy. They understood the difference in offering true brisket and lean brisket.Their sausage was good as well. The French fries are tasty. I can see this place doing well with the locals once open. I wouldsuggest this for lunch or dinner for families, friends or eating solo. Has a nice vibe and atmosphere with a live DJ. Definitelytry the brisket when you get a chance. ENJOY! Read more
