Was craving smoked chicken, and it really hit the spot. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and moist. I especially loved the chicken... skin. The steak was also delicious! Came out medium rare, as requested. Super yummy & tasty with the butter sauce on top. Besure to get the shrimp and chicken poppers, too! Sides are about average though imho. Read more
We tried Hard Eight BBQ for the first time because we've heard so many good things about it. It did not disappoint! And that Big... Daddy Margarita was the best margarita I've had in a very long time! ???? We had brisket, sausage, ribs, coleslaw, fried okra,creamy corn and peach cobbler! All of it was delicious!! 1st timer & Wow! This place came highly recommended and I?m excited me and my girlfriend were able to try it! When you walk in,... it?s like walking into a smoker lol straight grill & charcoal. Please pay attention to the signs as they are there to help youunderstand how ever works as well as placing your order smoothly. We went about peak dinner time and those signs were helpfulfor someone unfamiliar and also to keep the line moving (that matters). As you get ready to order everything it is similar to abuffet style minus multiple people breathing over everything (which is a plus).The meat comes by the 1/2 pd so use your owndiscretion. I got ribs, brisket, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and fries. The meat was amazingly well made, 10/10. The corn was notanything exciting-sadly. Great quality and experience! Upon entering, you are welcomed by a smokey aroma that is beyond great.You see the food being... cooked and prepared, you get to choose exactly what you want and how much of it you want. My favorite was the regular sausage,followed by the brisket and pulled pork. After picking your meats you go inside to pick up your sauces and sides. There isseating indoors and out. It?s the perfect Texas bbq experience! They have smokers indoors that really appeal to your olfactory senses before you even get... to order. The food is delicious and the meat was tender and juicy. The brisket was superb. We didn?t particularly like the steakbut overall the rest of the food made up for it. Read more
My husband and I went to Hard Eight BBQ last Saturday evening. We had been wanting to try it for a really long time, so decided... to pop in when we were hungry and in the area. First of all, there was a long line that worked it's way outside, but that was tobe expected since it was Saturday evening. As the line moved, we were waiting in a very dim room. It was too dark to read signsor the menu hanging on the wall. It was a cool night so we were all cold as we waited, since all doors and windows were wideopen. Next, the first guy we encountered was cooking the steaks. He was rude and impatient. My husband really wanted a steak,but after we called the guy over, and he acted like we were wasting his time, we moved along. Then, as we waited along the barfor pickles, butter, etc, there was a lady with very long dark hair cleaning up and restocking that area. As she did so, she'dbend over the bar and her long hair would go into the bins of condiments and food. It was unbelievable! Why wouldn't she haveher hair pulled back if she's working around food?!? So now, let's talk about the food. We both had chicken, sausage, potatoes(sweet and Irish), and the free beans. The food was all good, and the BBQ sauce was okay, but since the restaurant was set upmore like a cattle run, and most of the employees acted like they'd prefer to be anywhere but there, I highly doubt we'll evergo back. The line looked on but it only took about 15 minutes to make it through. The iced tea was very good. The meat and selection was... very nice. You may want to make time to take a shower after going there because you'll smell like barbecue for days and itsmells so good. My total for the tray was $34 for 1 person. Read more
Great quality and experience. Bask in the smoke when you enter. I wish they made that into a cologne. The smoker is right in... front of you to pick your meats. We tried the brisket, chicken, sausage and ribs. I was a pretty big fan of the ribs andsausage. The brisket was ok and the chicken was above average. After picking your meats you pick your sides. I tried the baconpotato salad and the corn. I'd strongly recommend the corn. The rest of the group got some other sides, the mac and cheeseseemed a good choice. Beans and drinks are in endless supply around the communal eating tables. Great atmosphere and team. Thereis seating indoors and out. No complaints. Read more
