We were in The Dalles hosting an Open House for our Real Estate clients and were craving noodles and teriyaki so decided to go... to Momiji based on the reviews. We had never been to one and based on this experience will not be going back. Simply put, therewas no flavor in either dish. They weren't horrible but there was just no flavor at all. Nigiri was terrible. The rice is soggy and they give you a ridiculous amount of it with a little piece of fish on top. The rolls... were terrible. Used to be a five. This place has been a favorite for our family for about the last year for lunch or dinner when we would go to... town. The food is very good, but the young man (waiter)did not acknowledge we were waiting to be seated for about 10 minuteseven when other employees of the restaurant were saying where he should seat us. Then after being seated, he ignored us againfor another 15 minutes until an employee had to direct him to our table. We finally got to take our order, and he repeated itback to us and we said that's right. We waited some more, still no soup that came with our dinners. Then the waitress who washelping out, gave my wife hers and my wife asked can we have our 2 egg flowers as well, so she got those. He was taking someoneelse's order and he simply asked if they do side orders of (some sauce) and he told them "you just need to look at the menu!" Sowe felt he was just not in a good mood.. so we waited another 30 minutes, my family shared my wife's one meal and the waiterfinally passed me and I said "is the number 12 coming" and he said "no, you didn't order anymore food"! And I told him I did andhe responded with " I'll go put it in. And I told him don't even worry about it and he walked off. our 3 kids were restlessand we didn't want to wait anymore.. so I asked the waitress who passed us for our check, she knew something was up and when wegot our check the no12 was on the receipt, which was considered paid already.so we are in the middle of restaurant and he stopsme saying "your food is done!" And I told him no, you're not listening, I told you I didn't want it" then he was talking to hisemployees in their language, so we just walked out. The service, and the food were perfect. I highly recommend the sushi, and the sweet and sour chicken. They gave us little... freebie sesame balls with our order which tasted like a dream! The boba was magnificent! I had the honey tea, and the coconuttea. They both tasted sweet and delicious. I definitely recommend this place it has a lot of good menu choices, and yummy treatsto pick from! The atmosphere inside is nice too, the wonderful person that helped me with my special order made sure I hadeverything I needed when I came in and made sure we got all of our food! Read more
