We came in right before lunch service and I was quite confused as to what was happening, although my friend who happened to dine... here before guided me which made things easy. The style of the restaurant was interesting. It was self service yet had a dine instyle vibe. Either way, it took some time to decide what to get but I ended up getting one of their pastas. I ordered the foodand got the buzzer device. I went ahead and sat in one of the cabins with a friend. The environment was not the best. Our foodwas served to us weirdly coz we were supposed to collect it and there were mishaps with that where the wrong food was brought.Anyway, the pasta itself was great and the staff were friendly as well. Although there was this old man by the bar hitting ongirls which made the environment uncomfortable. I went with friends so it wasn?t a big deal but with families coming in this canstart to be a problem. I wouldn?t want to scrutinize the place too much because we did come in when service started and the foodwas great, maybe at a different time things might have been much better and the staff seemed nice and courteous which is why Igive a 4 star. This place was great! There is a ton of parking and seating and the line to order at the counter was pretty short. The menu has... lots of variety and our food came out within 5-10 minutes. The chipotle chicken pepper pasta was absolutely delicious and cameas a huge portion. Everything seems to be priced reasonably and the atmosphere was great! Read more
I absolutely loved my visit to Black Walnut! Other than having an extensive menu, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful and... well decorated. It is casual dine in but with an elegant twist! (Order and seat yourself). The Birria Tacos were delicious!! Iwould have not imagined they were coated with so much flavor, and I would enjoy every last bite of them. This will definitelynot be my last time coming here, and I?m so excited to try my next dish here! After our lunch, we did help ourselves to theirgelato selection. I love how you order at the cashier, pick a table, and your food is brought to you. Our food came out really fast and was... delicious. I recommend the ham and cheese omelette. For something so simple, I think it was the best tasting ham and cheeseomelette I?ve ever had. Coffee was good and strong. They even had EV charging stations! Read more
We visited the Black Walnut Cafe this weekend and loved it! The atmosphere is relaxing and nice. It?s also a child friendly... restaurant. The pecan pie pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The serving was big and lasted for 2 other meals. The lobster andmahi tacos were also delicious! The best part was the Texas pecan coffee! We loved it so much we got bags of it to bring backhome. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Texas! Read more
The food here was phenomenal. The entire family was raving by the time we were done. A bit more on the pricey side of things but... well worth the little bit of extra money you'd spend because the quality was definitely worth it. Now, I was definitely unusedto the setup they have where you walk to the register to order and they deliver the food to your table, but it was easy to getinto the swing of things once we knew. A great breakfast/brunch spot with a lot of great options for people of all kinds of diets. This is the first breakfast at place... I?ve seen which has a gluten-friendly featured item. They have traditional American breakfast dishes as well as Benedicts andomelettes, and a wide variety of drinks. I had the chef?s breakfast dish and it was delicious - couldn?t even tell it was glutenfriendly. We also tried the Nashville Benedict which was amazing and actually pretty light.
