I love their donuts, but I got food positioning when I ate their donuts yesterday. This is not the first time I got food... positioning from eating donuts from this store (7901 Research). This shop never has fresh donuts at 7:30 in the morning! I?d imagine mornings before 8:30-9a are the busiest for donuts. I stop... at least once a week and I just don?t learn a lesson. They will never have warm ones! The quality is gooey, bottom-heavy anddamp glazed donuts versus airy, fluffy and lightly coated. If you're new to the Houston area - please don't think this place represents what Shipley's is really like. I've been to this... location several times and they never have fresh glazed donuts. So now they get a 1 star and I make it my last time. I askedthe guy what time I'd have to get there to get hot glazed and he gave me the typical answer people give when they don't havegood reasons or excuses - "it depends". I asked for an estimate. He literally told me "...at 5am when they make them. We have tosell the ones we have before we make more..." So owner, let me clue you in as to why Shipley's (well, not your Shipley's) isthe top donut franchise in the Houston area. Just one reason. HOT FRESH GLAZED DONUTS. That's it. That's all you have to do.But if you can't do that, it's not a real Shipley's. It's... well, as others have said in their reviews, just an average donutshop. If you like being average, keep it up. You get 5 stars for that. Want to see how a good Shipley's is run? The one atWashington and Westcott inside the loop has hot fresh glazed no matter what time we go in. It could be 8am or 11:30am. The donuts are better than most of the small shops around here. They still are just OK. If you have lived outside of Texas and... had great donuts, you won?t be impressed here. I knocked a 3 star review down to down to 2 stars for the bad customer service.We went in just after noon to get some donuts. I understand section is limited at this time but all we wanted was for them toadd some sprinkles to a donut. No one else in the store, the sprinkle shaker was 10? away and the dude just simply refused to doit. Very bad customer service.
