We had a wonderful dinner at the steak house. We have been going to that area for years and never stopped there, so glad we did... this time! Steak, shrimp and twice baked potatoes were to die for! Service was top notch! We will definitely be going back. Read more

First time dining at the Steak House. The seating is so close to other tables( absolutely no personal space) it's not possible... to have a private conversation with each other. So the environment is uncomfortably quiet because every conversation can beheard by all the diners. Opening menu the prices were very high. Based on prices I expected a 5 star meal. I ordered sauteedshrimp and scallops. The 3 shrimp was very overcooked and scallops were undercooked. Both tasted as if they were cooked inwater. Zero flavor no spices or flavor. I tried adding salt and pepper to help which it didn't. Waitress was inattentive andvery unhappy and unfriendly. After several attempts to try to get her back to our table I requested cocktail sauce to be able toeat my seafood. My boyfriend ordered top sirloin which was cooked perfectly but absolutely no spice or flavor. He also had toadd salt and pepper to try to give it flavor. Our meals came with fries and salad. The fries were good. The bus girl was thefriendliest and most pleasant out of the whole experience. Read more

We ate here two nights in a row. First night was for fish fry and second for steak/prime rib. Fish fry was good. Steak/prime... rib/stuffed pork was awesome. Prices are in line with what it costs now to eat out. Service was really good. Everyone was sofriendly. Would definitely eat there when in area. And Ryan, a waiter, was awesome ????!! Read more

First time here and wasn't sure what to expect based on other reviews. But I really wanted a steak and didn't want to deal with... the crowds in old forge proper. Had a really great experience. Food was priced fairly based on quality and portions. Had theFrench onion soup, delmonico steak and strawberry shortcake. Steak was cooked perfectly rare. As other reviews said, it isvery lightly seasoned but I'm a steak purist and don't like sauces or a lot of heavy seasoning. A little salt and pepper and itwas perfect! Service was attentive, margarita was delicious. Would totally recommend if you are looking for a good steak in acasual atmosphere. Read more

Awful. Service was slow and the manager was absolutely useless. Especially when the 3 lovely ladies walked in. We had called... ahead to see if they could accommodate a group of 10. They told us to come in at 7PM and they would have a section ready for us.We got there at 7 and we were seated immediately. The manager expressed how they've been a successful family-owned business for50 years. Our table ordered a bottle of red wine. It sat on the bar for no less than 30 minutes before our server brought overand said she thought someone else brought it over already. She took our food order at around 7:30. Now during this period oftime, the 3 lovely ladies were served their food, along with another table. The manager was happy to take pictures of the ladiesand socialize with them while our group had to keep asking our server for water refills and other beverages. We received ourfood at 8:45 and one of the prime ribs, that was supposed to be rare, came out medium. There was no way we were sending it backafter waiting so long for our food. I understand it's hard to find good help these days, but this manager did absolutely nothingto help his staff. Pathetic mentality and he will certainly never see our faces again. Opportunity missed!! My husband and I were on vacation and he wanted a steak. So we went to The Steakhouse. The experience was not impressive. It's... a "Steakhouse". My husband ordered a Delmonico steak. We waited about a half hour for our food. They were not that busy. He wasnot impressed with his Delmonico. There was no flavor. It was not seasoned at all. He tried salt, pepper. The cut was verygrizzly, there was a grain of fat all throughout the piece of meat. He could not even finish it. For the price of $27.99 heexpected more flavor and a better cut of meat. Heather, the waitress was very apologetic. We told her about the meal and shesaid she would let them know in the back. Heather came back about 15 minutes later and said they were sorry that my husband wasnot pleased with the meal and that we would not have to pay for his steak. That was not our intention. We just wanted them toknow our thoughts about the meal. I had the Haddock special which was very good. Would we go back? I'm not sure. Read more

The best thing about this restaurant was the hostess that seated us. That?s the only reason I?d give this place a star at all.... First thing I noticed was how expensive everything was on the menu so I thought the food was gonna be good, boy was I mistaken.Let?s start with the appetizers cocktail shrimps for two - they looked and tasted like they were fresh out of a bag, the friedclams were so chewy and didn?t taste like clams at all. But the cocktail sauce was very food and you needed it to mask the tasteof those horrible clams. So we got a couple steak meals and seafood meals. The steaks were cook super well not medium well andwhere unseasoned the fried were soggy but flavorful. The baked fish was ok and so was the fried fish. Now the clams andscallops both tasted like they came out of a frozen bag and were beyond disgusting. The only thing that was good was the friedshrimp. Even the soda was flat and we tried different ones. So in all if you like unseasoned, flavorless food this is the placefor you. After paying almost 200 dollars for this horrible food we had to stop at a local gas station to get something becausenone of us finished our meals and where still hungry. I wouldn?t recommend this place to anyone. Read more

Great place to go for a prime rib dinner. The staff was really friendly and the place was nice and clean. Priced reasonably and... it has a full bar, if an adult beverage is your thing. Be sure to try the apple crisp desert. A recipe that has been in thefamily for over 100 years. Quaint, cozy and refreshing. Highly recommend. Read more
