I was headed to a restaurant in town that happened to be closed, for whatever reason, when I arrived. So I stumbled upon the... Alumni Grill and decided to give it a shot. The outside of the business is a bit misleading as once you enter the restaraunt,there are actually lively people enjoying their meals, color and decoration inside, and smiling staff. I ordered the AlumniBurger and it was really good. I also had a chocolate shake (which I considered more a malt) that was especially tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would return here again. I ate the cauliflower burger with a house salad it was delicious. My friend ordered the cauliflower burger with a Cobb salad... and she said it was the best she?s ever tasted. We finished it off with a piece of Mardi Gras cheesecake, to say it was so good,is an understatement, it was absolutely delicious. Ugh. Where do I begin? I really have a lot to say, but I'm going to make this brief. The food was over priced, over cooked (in... the case of the ribs), or not cooked enough (in the case of the steamed broccoli), or not flavorful enough (in the case of themac and cheese and the bread pudding). My brisket sandwich was "meh" at best. And shouldn't brisket be pulled or shredded oreven sliced, not CUBED? What was THAT about? Anyway, the best thing I ate were the onion straws appetizer, which were oily. Butat least they tasted good. I don't plan to return anytime soon. I'll give them some time to work out the kinks. My very first visit to this bar and grill and I was blown away! I am on the WW Plan and was skeptical about the menu but please... hear me when I say that their grill person grilled the most salacious cauliflower Patty I have ever tasted along with grilled(yes, I said grilled) broccoli!
