I usually get takeout from this place, and every time it'd take only 10-15 min for the food to arrive. Dining in, it seems the... food takes a bit longer, maybe since they prioritize take-out orders or they assume you don't mind sitting around waiting.Anyway I love their original gyudon and it usually is worth 2 meals for me so the price is really good. Also, they charge a 15%gratuity on bigger groups (I forgot the exact number), even if not everyone in your group is ordering food. So even if just oneperson orders, and say, 6 other people, are just chilling there, they'll charge the automatic gratuity. Regardless, food andservice are good. The only thing I hated was their chairs. It may sound petty but their chairs suck. They're not comfy and theymake that harsh screeching sound when you push it back or scrape it even slightly against the floor. Excellent food! They serve miso soup as an appetizer, and it was very good. Sweet, but not overwhelming. I tried many of their... dishes, such as their omurice, their bbq pork bowl and their gyudon, and they were all very tasty. I especially liked the bbqpork bowl, which was well decorated and the pork has a nice texture. Read more
We've gotten take out from this place many times before. It's been consistently good and price is decent. The omurice is quite... good, the egg isn't as smooth as what your would get in Japan and it's a little on the small side but it's good. Most otherthings are well portioned. The only thing that doesn't make sense is they are cash or debit only. They don't take credit unlessyou're ordering from an online platform. Taste: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Setting: 5/5 Definitely recommend getting the Tuna rice bowl! We got the signature beef rice bowl, the... tuna bowl, and the ox tongue, both salted and teriyaki. The flavors of the tuna rice bowl were excellent; the wasabi sauce hada hint of wasabi, and wasn't too sweet, and the tuna meat was well proportioned. The beef was a little well done for our tastesand the rice was slightly drier than we were used to but overall with the sauces it was a very good dish! It was my first time ordering take out from Donburi. The service was quick and the Beef Don was really yummy. It tasted like the... one from Japan. The price was not cheap for a beef don but the portion was reasonable. You can get 10% off if you pay by cash.Look forward to go back and try other items on their menu. Read more
Got takeout from them which was prepared quickly. I always love their food which tastes very homey and warm and is one of the... only places I know that offers omurice. Their takeout portions are also decent and it comes with a lot of curry in a separatecontainer so you can pour in accordingly. Decent prices as well. Read more
Was fairly quiet on a Sunday night but one of the restaurants that are open later in Markham. You have the option to order just... skewers and sides it donburis. The umami donburi was really flavorful, the katsu don was okay. Read more
