Was on my way home from skiing on a Sunday evening. Wanted Thai food but the place I was recommended/would typically go (Thai... Kitchen) isn?t open on Sunday?s. Unfortunately, this place was. Order pad thai over the phone for pickup. At $22.50, it?s moreexpensive than Thai Kitchen by quite a bit but my options are limited and I?m hungry. Pick it up, get home and open the box tofind what is essentially a regular stir fry with about a pound of bell peppers and onion on top, and some cashews, plus the tofuand noodles. Call the restaurant to let them know my orders? wrong, and they inform me that it?s ?their take on a pad thai?.?what?? No bean sprouts, no peanuts, no scrambled egg, and their ?pad thai sauce? just tastes like somehow worse VH sauce fromthe store. The noodles are congealed at the bottom, with half of them not having any sauce at all. What it boils down to is thatit?s not pad thai, it has none of the components that would make it pad thai. At best, it?s a poorly done regular stir fry. Therep, who was rude the whole time, tells me that it is pad thai and that just because I don?t like it doesn?t mean it?s not padthai. He said they?ve changed all these components for ?allergy purposes?. I tell him none of this is on their website, nor inthe menu, and they can?t just change every part of a dish and call it the same thing. I ask for a refund, and tell them thatthis isn?t what I ordered. I?ll waste my time/money, bring it back, and go somewhere else, or they can make an actual padthai. He refuses telling me they don?t do refunds, and that not liking it isn?t a valid reason anyway. I tell him that beyondnot liking it; it?s not what I ordered. We do a little more back and forth before he says something like. I?m not going tochange my mind, and you won?t be getting a refund or another meal, so there?s no point to continuing this conversation. At thispoint the conversation ends. I got an order of BBQ Pork Lo Mein and S&S Shrimp. The shrimp was great and is probably cheapest in town for how much you get!... The lo mein was not my favourite, the noodles were a bit overcooked (may be due to the drive home) and were bland. Read more
I really liked this restaurant about 8 years ago but the past few years it has been lacking something. Vietnamese spring rolls... are fantastic as well as the wings and chicken balls. General tao chicken tasted like the sauce was watered down and neededsome spice or something was missing. The pineapple rice doesn't appear to have seasoning so it works better to mix with otherfood that has sauce or flavour. I'd go back just to order the spring rolls any day -filling and tasty. A great little gem of a place to eat. Clean and neat. Very nice staff. Food was served hot and on time. Reasonable prices for... most dishes. Worth a try if your looking for a place to dine. The pad thai has there own twist and it works well. I will returnagain for more great food. Update! Got the dinner for 6 and wow was so good! All food was pipping hot and fresh came to about$120 clams but we had left overs for 2 days that depends on you family size.... we have 5. Well worth it and will order again! Read more
