I came up from Florida and was told this was the best place for New England seafood. Boy we?re they wrong. Tiny portions, some... inedible. Prices were through the roof. The person I took to treat later said I was robbed. Do yourself a favor and stay faraway from this place. Read more

Only out door seating, but they do have a tent and heaters. It was 60° tonight and we were nice and toasty. Especially with the... clam chowder which was excellent. Read more

Some of the best fish and chips and clam chowder I've had! Large portions and good pricing. Friendly staff as well!

Came down from Bristol. Visiting family. The photos on the website indicated that they served food on plates like a normal... restaurant however on arrival this place is only outdoor seating and everything is served on paper plates and such. Had thechowder and clam cakes. Was good. My aunt had the lobster roll. It fell apart from all the butter but the lobster was good. Theentertainment was neat. A man playing some drum thing to music from his iPad. Will not return. Do not recommend if you aretrying to sit down to a nice meal with your family. More of a on the go fast seafood type situation. We drove over an hour to get here since my wife grew up in New Bedford and has fond memories of a Macray's from long ago. ... Supposedly there's a direct connection between the two, but the food here was pretty sad. I had clam chowder that was just OK. It wasn't loaded with clams, and not nearly as good as Legal Seafood or Boston Chowder Co. soup. My wife specificallyremembered their clean cakes, so that's what I ordered for my "main" course. I was expecting loads of clams just held togetherwith the minimum of filler. What I got could most charitably be called fritters, but they were 90% filler and 10% clams (maybeless). Then they were deep fried, but instead of crispy on the outside and light and tasty on the inside they were just heavyand soggy with oil. There were only 3 tables in use, so that wasn't the issue. My wife had the fried clams (I don't love friedclams - I do love clams, but I grew up eating clam "strips" at Howard Johnson's and Nathan's Famous, not the full belly clamsyou get in New England. But, I digress...). Her comment was that the clams were "Ok", but she expected them to be crispy, andthey weren't. All in all, it was certainly not worth the drive - we can get better clams and other similar food within a fewminutes of home. Read more

We absolutely love Macray's. The food is always fresh and delicious, the servers are friendly and helpful, and the owners are... very personable. We celebrated at Macray's when we found out we were expecting a son this fall and several people stopped by toask about it and shared stories. We've been back numerous times since! We highly recommend the clam cakes, calamari, baked cod,and any dessert on offering. I've also had the Del's Vodka Lemonade many times and it's a delight. Although they specialize inseafood, we also loved their steak dishes. See photos. Read more

The lobster is super tender and not over cooked at all with almost no mayo - it's pure lobster. The buns are perfectly buttery... and toasted. I love the little fish nuggets too. Their clam cakes and New England style Chowder are done just right and they'recrispy on the outside! We sat outside but they do have an inside dining room and they have liquor and a full bar. With all thefried food though, you'll want to get an extra side of coleslaw. Read more
