We had a nice dinner. We ordered dessert to go at 445. At 5 the waitress came out and said the cook forgot to pull the ticket.... At 505 the waitress came out to take payment. Still no dessert. At 520 it finally came out. She told us a lot of take out orderscame in and they were done 1st. Wow that's great customer service. Pleasant experience food was good. 18oz ribeye (30.00 ) at least 6oz was fat. Atmosphere was nice.
So, we came to visit Mount Airy for a couple days and was in search of a good place to eat. I had read the iffy at best reviews... and it kept us from eating there on day one. On day two we decided to give it a try. I warned my family that we may be goinginto a bad situation but to be open minded and give it a try. We were seated immediately as the place was not busy during whatshould be the dinner rush. We ordered fried pickles and the onion (can?t remember what they called it) as appetizers. They wereboth good and we were hopeful. I ordered the Dead Eye Ribeye which is their biggest steak (18oz) and is priced at $29.99. I hadfries and a salad. (Photos attached) I ordered it medium and got it very close to rare. I was willing to be a trooper and eatit because I will not send steaks back to kitchen. I was barely able to cut it with a knife, it was very tough, had zero flavor,and was very watery. Whomever made the steak simply can?t make steaks. I could not eat the fries because they were so salty andthen they were saturated with the fluids coming out of the steak. I ate two bites of the steak. The rest of my family (fourothers) ate their food but all stated that it was food without flavor. My daughter had a hamburger that had zero flavor and hermashed potatoes were cold. The worst part of all of this is our waitress never one time asked if my steak was okay. She saw Iwas not eating it and never asked if everything was okay. I paid the full bill and my wife was furious and immediately calledthe manager. The manager said it was the steaks fault because she had received the exact same complaint from someone else aboutthe same steak. I assure you it was not the meats fault. Whomever is making those steaks simply can?t. I do want to add thatthe manager refunded me for my steak dinner. I appreciated that! Ordered door dash at 8pm tonight. Ordered 2 round up steak burgers and a tumbleweed onion. Order was finally dropped off at 9:58... and this is what we received. One plate has burger and no bun and the other plate has bun but no burger. Everything was coldand we are directly across the street from the restaurant. (cold outside and didn't want to go back out) of course therestaurant is now closed. Read more
Open tables tho wait maybe 10 minutes. Daughter asked for wings - they were out. I asked for 12oz steak also they were out.... Asked what the southern corn was like... the waitress responded "idk never had it" overall the food was subpar the steak lookedlike a freezer steak and was well done instead of medium. Steak maybe quarter inch thick with fake grill marks on top. Then whenasking about the military discount, the waitress was unsure.. I had to ask again for her to ask her manager. The discount onlyapplied to my meal instead of the entire dinner for 2. 2nd and last time I come here. I still tipped the waitress 3 dollars fora 26 dollar meal. Wish I had my phone for pictures. Save your coin and go to a small business. Horrible food untrained servers. I?m very sorry to say. We thought it was going to be... good. Seemed like friendly folks. But at the end of the neither food nor service was worth the money. Didn?t take but a fewbites of each of the three items we ordered. Disappointed to say the least. Read more
With the local food fair not meeting expectations I was pleasantly surprised stopping here. Everything was beyond expectations... except few items. The fries were unseasoned which is something I hate. My medium well burger came out rare and uneatable for myliking. The waitress was extremely nice and got the burger removed without an issue. The dinner rush came in and she becameclearly busy and flustered but still handled everything else. I would go back here again with my next visit! Read more
