Service was great and all staff were more than happy to accommodate dietary needs. I?m usually not a fan of fish and chips but... this batter was super thin and light which was amazing. One order came with two fish and a basket of fries, enough for twopeople. We also got a basic Caesar salad. I personally loved the fish taco but definitely on the pricier end. It's a good place to have fish and chips. They use Gregorian Bay whitefish, which tastes way different from other fish varieties... served elsewhere. The fry is good in general, crunchy and light. We tried Calamari and Shrimp too and they were well made too.Though we felt that their fries were underdone, slightly undercooked and soggy. Also, we reached there almost 30 mins aftertheir opening hours and few items on the menu were still unavailable, citing reason that they just opened, pretty surprising.But overall ,they have great atmosphere, friendly staff. So if you are in Tobermory and hungry for some fish - this is where youwant to be. Read more
The staff were friendly and the Fish and Chips were pretty good and fresh. The pricing is a little on the high side, but... Tobermory is a tourist attraction, so it?s understandable. On a side note, the street parking is $3.00 per hour. Read more
During our trip to Tobermory, the power went out at 3:30pm and most restaurants had to close for the afternoon and evening...... The Fish & Chip Place was seemingly the only restaurant with a backup generator within a reasonable walking distance. Despitethe long line ups and busyness of the long weekend, we were greeted with a friendly and cheerful staff who clearly went beyondtheir daily duties to feed and give their customers a good time. I honestly have to applaud this place for it's ability to stayafloat during such a food crisis on one of the busiest summer weekends. Food was very good as we enjoyed the fish and chips,fish taco, calamari, clam chowder and coleslaw. As for the beers, our glasses were very clean and the honey sleeman was smoothand refreshing. Cheers to the friendly ladies who took care of the front lines and cleared the tables, to the wait staff whoran from table to table to meet all orders, and the kitchen staff who continuously made delicious food for an endless line oftakeout and dine in tables!
