Beautiful interior, scratch kitchen, extremely friendly and attentive wait staff, and value for money spent. Went for an... anniversary dinner and we got the tiramisu as a free dessert, which they brought a lit candlerabra out with. The chicken marsalawas cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce, lasagna Bolognese with flavorful and yet not too heavy with a lovely bechamelsauce, and of course the fried calamari was some of the freshest I've ever had with a sauce to die for. Our waitress gave uscool facts about surrounding area, and someone who was there since the opening possibly the owner greeted us and told us aboutthe hanging wine bottles. Oh! The food was delicious and was not overpowered with garlic. Portions were exceptional and the service was attentive. We sat... outside which was covered under a natural plant canopy. It was very scenic right on the river. Even the bread and butter wasgood. I think the butter was fused with Kalamata olives (I think). Great value and highly recommend. Read more
So the evening before we did Mancy's Italian Grille. We were satisfied and content with the level of skill and the service... there... Then after looking for paint and all that we come to Zia's for dinner. I would say after experiencing both, that littleold toodly doo also known as Toledo, HANDS DOWN... has the best Italian themed eateries between Detroit AND Cleveland. Now. Onto my review.i ordered fried ravioli and my lady had a vegetable pizza. First off, their presentation is totally 2nd to none.See the attached pics. Next, even for an appetizer this simple, the textures, the condiment sauces, garnishments... I tastedeverything in them. Amazing! Even the side salad was surprisingly delicious. The main dish totally exceeded my expectation. Ihad more ravioli???? in a buttery garlicky sauce with a grilled salmon steak atop it. The fish was so tender yet grilled with acrisp edge. It was cooked perfect. The service was amazing. It's the smaller more personable restaurants that give the bestexperiences. This one holds totally true to that notion. Our waitress was patient and treated us like old friends. This placerocked. We spent $80plus but it was totally worth it. More actually. I've paid more for considerably less. Great value andeverything else. Totally unsolicited but well earned 5 STARS. Toledo has 2 of the best Italian eateries in the region. Read more
Good service. Ate outside and enjoyed view. Food was seasonsed well and fresh.
Had an anniversary dinner here with family. Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn’t sit on the great patio on the... river. Our waitress was awesome. We got a couple of seafood pasta specials, ravioli, Chicken Marsala, shrimp scampi and pestopasta. Everyone gave good to great reviews of their meals. We will return again. Hopefully on the patio! About a week ago I came here with my mom for her birthday, and we had the best time. In my opinion, Zia's is one of those... restaurants like wine... it just gets better with age. I haven't been in a couple of years - maybe over five, and couldn'tbelieve that I forgot how good it was. And for my celiac friends or friends with a gluten intolerance, they have gluten freepasta and a cauliflower crust for their pizzas (we love an inclusive restaurant). The inside is perfectly dim and the servicewas great. We had a super cute waitress with beautiful green eyeshadow, jade flower earrings, and a green tie. The bread andolive spread are my favorite in the area, and I ordered the gluten free pasta with the spicy balsamic tomato sauce add chicken.It was *chefs kiss* DELICIOUS. And, I felt as though it was the perfect portion size. I wasn't uncomfortably full when Ifinished it, and I was completely satisfied.
