I had the chicken fried steak. AWESOME. 6 oz., tender cube steak, lightly breaded by hand, nice crunch but not hard or thick.... Creamy soft interior fresh cut fries, and okra fried to perfection. Not sure if the gravy was from scratch, but it was great. Iwas the only one there and the only downside was employees chatting tooooo loud to let me truly enjoy the moment of wonderfulfood and attentive service. Read more

Oh my goodness, a thousand thumbs up! We found this place by accident, and then found ourselves mapping the distance to say... “we would drive here JUST for this”. Huge portions, and homemade EVERYTHING. Truly a gem in Tonkawa! I had catfish, mypartner had a burger, we shared pie. Yes, all the way around! Excellent food and friendly people! Also, there is a bakery nextdoor owned by the same people, where they make pies fresh daily. We weren’t going home or we would have visited that.Wonderful experience! ?? Read more

I really wanted to love this place but things didn't go so well. It could be also a bad night to visit. But our waitress was so... slow at getting to us on anything. Even having to ask the other girl to refill our 4 drinks that were empty for awhile. Wethought it was just because the other side was busy but when we went to see the kinds of ice cream there was no one over there. The food was really good and was very well portioned. We might give it a second chance but not anytime soon. Read more

The okra was best I had in a long time. The country fried steak was verytender and had great taste. Definitely would stop here and eat again. Read more

Passing through on a road trip, husband wanted something sweet and the a&w off the highway was disgusting...so we drove a few... miles to Mary's. He got a chocolate shake that was really good and loaded fries that we shared. Perfectly cooked waffle fries, cheese and bacon were just right and tasted fresh. Staff was friendly. Hopefully they will have pecan pie available next time???? Read more

Pleasant surprise from the small town of Tonkawa. Decided to try the local diner while passing through. So happy that I did so.... The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I had the open faced roast beef sandwich with grilled vegetables and abaked potato. The portion of roast beef was at least 6-8 ounces and falling apart tender. The biggest surprise came with thecheck. Price was cheap and it said pay now by phone! This Tonkawa diner is way ahead of the technology curve. Needless to sayit’s worth your time to exit I-35 now and have a decent home cooked meal. Read more

Folks Mary's Grill is a little out of the way place that's just off of I 35 in Tonkawa Oklahoma. Home type cooking at its best... the Chicken fried Chicken was so good with gravy, mashed potatoes and homemade roll just thinking about it makes me wanna stopback by. Mary's also has a little salad bar with fruit and veggies so fresh you'll think they have a garden out back. I heartheir pies are all home made I didn't have room for a piece this time but I'll be back real soon so I see you there. Read more
