Bathroom smelled like vomit. Perfect to get you in the mood to eat the food. Then the table we were out at had so low of benches... I felt like a kid at the adult table and I'm 6' the food was ok. Staff seemed like we were a burden and one of them just keptlooking at their phone. I would pass on this location they have another location at 21st and Fairlawn that is better. Read more
UPDATE: TONIGHT WAS THE WORST SERVICE AND FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD HERE!! The lady that works here was so rude and unprofessional... that I am considering not coming back. I ordered 3 beef tacos after eating ½ of the first taco I found what appeared to be apiece of plastic in my taco. When she was walking by I said excuse me and she just kept walking. When she finally came back Ishowed her it and she asked me what I wanted her to do. To make a long story short, they gave me two new taco's and that was it.I was extremely upset with the way we were treated. Then when we got our bill they charged me for the taco's. When we went tothe register I asked why I was being charged for for them, he asked the lady, in Spanish of course, she replied in Spanish. Myfriend was paying and I just went outside. Come to find out he didn't even take off my meal. I will not be going back and I hatethat I have to go somewhere else but I'm not going to be treated badly. This is one of my favorite places to eat at. Themargaritas are great! The food has always been good, sometimes the chips are stale but otherwise it's got great Mexican food.The servers are always the same ones so you get to know how they are if you go there frequently. I have found a couple are justok at their job while other's are great. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for Mexican food. Read more
ALWAYS GREAT FOOD! Seemed busy for one waitress on a Saturday night but she did well. Odd there is not salt n pepper on the... tables anymore but they were probably being taken...so, understandable. I believe ElMezcal is top of three Mexican food placesthat are worth going to between Lawrence & Topeka. Read more
My husband is a vet and has a service dog. They would not let us sit inside the restaurant with him. They made us sit on the... patio. Won't be back, food is average anyway. Many better Mexican restaurants in topeka. Read more
We had 8 for dinner. The service was very good. The food was average at best or at least my order of steak was. Bathrooms were a... little sketchy. However they made a good Margarita so the other things didn't matter much. Read more
Food was good. Waiter could have been more happy to be at work. I had to leave before I was ready due to them cleaning with... something that spelled like Pinesol. Knowing how that stuff stinks, you think they would not do that right by ppl trying to eat.Not like it was dirty in there. It was bad enough I couldn't take a deep breath. It was hard to breathe. Nice restaurant, food wasn?t bad. Got seated right away. The chips and salsa was pretty good. The rest of the food was good too.
