First time getting pizza from Gem City and we give it 2 thumbs up!
Best pizza I've had in a while. The meatball dumpling was delicious and wished I ordered 2. A+ friendly service.
????They put No cheese on the pizzas and the crust is always hard and overcooked. New ownership is cutting corners. ???? not... ordering here again. ????Also at one point, I ordered a steak salad and it had iceburg lettuce and five pieces of lunchmeatsteak on it That's It! Visited a Gem City Pizza in Myrtle Beach, SC, several years ago. Loved it and visited several times during vacation. Learned... that the owners were from Toronto OH. So when I came thru Toronto on business and saw the sign I had to stop. Fantasticexperience - just what I remembered. A few years ago this place had the best pizza to be had in Toronto or anywhere else close by. But after changing owners a few... times i think, it went downhill and was not very good so I quit buying my pizza there. After reading some re ent Facebook postswith people claiming that Gem City Pizza is back, i gave them a try tonight. So, are they back? Well, sort of. My pizza wasdecent but not on par with the way it used to be when it was fantastic. Hopefully they will continue to improve it. Mine wouldhave been great if it woild have had more sauce. (Guy running the cash register had no clue about prices and couldnt read the register to give me the correct change. He then... went from handling the money to making dough without washing his hands. Then another employee can in and started cooking withoutwashing his hands. Pizza took over 20 minutes for 6 pieces and was just terrible. I was then hasseled by another employee onwhether i paid or not and the employee who took my money couldnt seem to remember. I will never even think about this jointagain. Frozen pizza is a better option than this place) In response to this review...I am the owner and my wife and I areactively in the shop every day of the week. My employees would never touch money and then food without washing their handsfirst. I am very strict about this. Most of our employees are familiar with the prices and we are training new employees aswell. My employees would not hassle a customer about payment either. We are working hard to please our customers and encouragefeedback that we address personally. Was a great place when I first moved here, then they changed the crust like a cracker not the best
