I was intrigued when I found they had a brunch menu and it certainly didn't disappoint. Probably the richest pancake... flavourwise. The service was also great. Easy 10/10. Read more

Barque surprised us in many ways. First with their forward thinking when it comes to tipping. They pay their employees enough to... not need tips and are proud of it, as they should be. Of course, this comes with the food prices being a bit higher BUT thequality is worth it, I assure you. Before I get into that though, the other way they surprised us was with how humble they wereabout the mistakes they made. For some reason our order took forever to come out, so much so, that the table next to us gottheir order first even though they arrived a lot later than us. We were understandably upset but they were super apologetic andat the end of our meal they offered to take 50% off our order total. I've gotta say though, the waiters did seem a bitinexperienced, they would often forget to bring us things we asked for and we'd have to ask twice for it. So I would take half astar away for that if I could, but I'm sure they'll get better at it quickly. I want to emphasize how much the food made adifference in this entire situation, it was absolutely amazing. The brisket especially was the best brisket I've ever had,fall-apart-in-your-mouth and super tasty... amazing. The ribs with the Obama sauce were delicious as well and then we had threeof the sides, shoestring fries were fresh, crispy, and perfectly salted, the mac n cheese was creamy and perfectly cheesy, thecoleslaw was a bit too watery for my taste but it still tasted great, oh and we had Kansas style wings as a starter that werecooked to perfection as well. Other than the menu, the only thing I remembered to take pictures of was the wings, I was toohungry by the time we got the rest of our food and I'm sad I can't show you what it looked like but you won't regret orderingany of that. My mom had the pulled pork and loved it as well. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu, really.Enjoy. And I hope you don't have to wait as long as we did. Read more

Barque is a neighborhood classic. Serving up good food with good service and a good time, I would recommend anything on their... menu given the tastes that come along with it. Not to mention, they also pay fair wages to their serving staff which we all loveto support. Will definitely be back! Read more

Amazing brunch and lunch BBQ spot. Their brisket omelet was the best omelet we've ever had. Barque's is a full wage restaurant... where staff are paid a livable wage and gratitude is optional. We love supporting local businesses that support theiremployees! Edit - returned for dinner with family from Vancouver and order the platter for 4 (we were a table of 3) with acouple sides. Personally for us, the platter for 4 is suitable for 3 adults. It included pulled pork, brisket, ribs, turkey, andsausage. As usual, the meat was juicy and tender. Read more

Ordered take out from here for the first time, Will be the last as well. Maybe it's an off night for the kitchen but I am so... disappointed. First, the portion sizes are small. Laughably small. $13 for a tiny tray of mac and cheese that was lacking anyseasoning. The brisket was 50% inedible fat cap. While the meat was tender it had little smoke flavor. Turkey was dry, anddoused in gravy. The gravy wasn't served in a side container but dumped in the box the other meat was in so it was a soupy mess. The ribs were the worst I've ever had. They were so over done that I couldn't eat them, the meat was like tree bark. The onlysaving grace was the slaw. Not worth the $100 spent on the platter for 2, slaw and mac. Read more
