Blu Restaurant was a great experience. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and the food was great. I wish the steak had... less sauce on it or came with the sauce on the side. The tartare was perfection and the pasta was great too. I love the whitetable cloths on tables and the blue light everywhere on the patio and inside the restaurant. All in all great experience. Amazing experience, food, vibe and service. Ordered a prix fix Summerlicious menu as well as an appetizer from the regular... menu. Amazing quality and presentation of food. Server was lovely. Live pianist played later in the evening too. I'ddefinitely return for another visit. Read more
We decided to spend our 10th anniversary at Blu Ristorante. Great ambience and a lovely patio. Drinks and food were fine.... Service was good. I just wish they did a little bit more for us since I did mention it was not our 1st or 5th but 10th weddinganniversary celebration on the online booking system and at arrival. Went here for dinner for my birthday and the experience was definitely amazing. Fine dining at its best. The waiters were... attentive and friendly. The price for the food was more affordable then my guest thought but the food still held a highstandard. Definitely willing to go back again. Read more
My wife and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. We went for a 730pm reservation on a Sunday, but it was not that... busy. Most nights likely no reservation needed unless a Saturday. Street parking wasnt an issue but can see it being hardduring the week in the city. The outside is very unassuming. A large outdoor dining patio but we elected to eat inside. Theinside is two levels. A gorgeous bar on the main floor with a pianist who plays every Sunday night. He was great! Our server(s)were great. Explained the menu well and let us know about the specials. Cocktails to start were delicious. The basilico bash isrecommended! A bit pricey in my opinion but tasted great. We started with the beef carpaccio , as well as some prosciutto andcheese from the antipasti list. It came with pickles and crostini. Our server also brought us some home made focaccia bread witha spicy olive oil. All great! For dinner my wife had the butternut squash ravioli and I had the ribeye. Both were out of thisworld delicious. We also were tempted by the ?side? of sweet potato gnocchi, which is easily the best I have had within thecity. For dessert we tried the baked chocolate cake. A very long, drawn out description of a lava cake but it was wellprepared, hot and gooey and tasted amazing. Overall this place is a must! Read more
Nice fancy environment. Great for a quiet, upscale date night! Service was fast, food was pretty good. Extensive drink list for... those who want to drink something fancy. Took a star off because they the picture of the Lamb dish on their website was notwhat they actually served. (both had the same name labeled on it) They must have mislabeled it or it was an olderpicture. Either way we enjoyed the lamb! Just was expecting something different. Read more
Love the new location. We often went to Blu when it was right in Yorkville. The new location is amazing, John Campbell who plays... the piano on Sunday nights is a very talented musician with a wonderful personality. The staff here is all so very attentivefrom the manager to the server ( Brian) and right down to the young man that cleared the tables ( Jamal I believe was his name)the boss has assembled a great team . I will say that I did send my steak back because it had more cartilage than edible meat. The server quickly switched it out for a delicious lamb shank that I really enjoyed. 5/5 for perfect romantic ambience and live music, the artist John Campbell had a golden voice! 3/5 for the food. We got the... grilled calamari to start which was excellent. The squash ravioli filling and sauce were absolutely delicious but could haveused a few seconds more cooking on the pasta. The truffle mushroom risotto was disappointing, under seasoned and could not tasteany truffle in there whatsoever. The chocolate cake was delicious and oozed perfectly when cut but the pairing vanilla ice creamshould have been less sweeter. We also tried the Chardonnay and Rieslings and both were great! Our food and wine servers weregreat, but our main server seemed to have a problem acknowledging me at the table and seemed to want to interact exclusivelywith my partner.
