So I was thinking I just have bad luck, as they?re never open when I go, but turns out this is normal? Have never seen such a... thing, most small family owned shops run day and night just to pay the bills. I must be missing something. The few times I havebeen lucky enough to go the food has been amazing and I really want to give this place 5 stars, but it?s super frustrating to goduring their posted business hours and find that they are closed. The food is fantastic when the restaurant is open. It is supposed to be open 5 days a week but they are always closed for some... reason. Went there today and they had a sign in the window saying we love to blog, closed see you tomorrow Friday. The gentlemanwas in the back and didn't even come to the door or answer the phone when l tried to call to say they were closed. This is anongoing thing Read more

This is by FAR the best chicken in the city. Nothing else even comes close to this place. Used to live around the corner and... recently moved away, but I still drive across town for this. Seriously good. A+ for their fries. Read more

One star off because they are never open when I need them to be. Really good place! I love and always get the 2 piece chicken +... fries + gravy + macaroni salad. I will always come here! A lot of people are complaining about bad customer service. Yes it?sbad most of the time, and the lady at the cash can seem a bit off, but I?ve learned to just not ask questions much if you don?tneed to, order your food and go lol There?s also no point in calling, they won?t answer. You just have to show up and find outif they are open. Read more

I thought it was just me but the daughter is miserable. She looks very mean and gives off a nasty classist energy! Hard to... get a smile out of her. It really does seem like she hates her job and cares less if you come back. After all, Daddy set themup for life. They don't even have to try hard! However the chicken, fries and yellow gravy is pretty good. I just don't likegiving my hard earned money to places with poor customer service. After contact with her one needs to smudge. Read more

Went by on their 45th anniversary to try their special Chicken on a Kaiser. It was a really big sandwich and absolutely... delicious! I really wish they were able to keep this on their regular menu. While I found the chicken meat slightly dry, thefresh tomatoes & onions + sauce and crispy skin brought it all together really nicely. I also got 2 piece with fries, a mediumgravy and coleslaw salad. The chicken was amazing - probably the best fried chicken I've had in the city! The batter/breadingthat coats the chicken skin is delicious - really well seasoned, crispy and almost melts in your mouth. Their gravy is uniqueand really enhances the fries & chicken experience. And the coleslaw really hit the spot on a hot day! The customer service wasexcellent. The lady at the counter couldn't have been more helpful. They were obviously swamped with order throughout the day,but she was friendly, kind & professional. Definitely going back again soon! Read more

I?ve indulged here many many times and the food never disappoints! The fried chicken is juicy, tasty, and the skin is nice and... crispy. The fries are great too and don?t forget the gravy! I?ve never had an issue with poor customer service - they arealways friendly with me. Can?t wait to eat it again soon! Read more

Open again!! Love their chicken. Very old school family owned joint. Best fries in the game, hands down (you just need to add... your own salt and pepper to your liking). This location is unique and has charm. Not the same as the places with a similarname. Yellow chicken gravy, I put that stuff on everything! Things to keep in mind: -Cash ONLY, no debit/credit, mobilepayments -check the times when they are open -expect to wait a little bit while they make your food, they is only 2 peopleworking. -they close in the afternoon to clean and take a break. There are only two people. Let them have a rest. *there is nooff menu ordering, no substitutions, no special requests. Just order what?s on the menu, don?t ask for gluten-free, vegan, etc.cause you are going to catch an attitude asking if you are going to ask if their macaroni salad is made with fat-freemayo. 5/5, if you are dining-in and are going to eat it right away, get their gravy put directly on top of your fries. It?s amagical experience. Take out, you get it on the side so it don?t soggy up your fries. They?re very traditional. They keep theirmenu simple, however, if they had made a poutine with their amazing fries and yellow gravy with cheese curds, I think I wouldprobably be there every day that they are open. It would be a problem. Read more
