Gallery Sushi is the textbook definition of average: It's not bad but also not good. It's a tummy-filler not a... palette-pleaser. Stopped by for a $29 AYCE, which I guess is on the lower end of AYCE prices these days? Menu wasn't extensivebut wasn't crazily limited (they offered the standard sushi, rolls and cooked items). Quality was not good enough that it mademe wish I had spent the money on a super fancy dish instead, but also not bad enough for me to think it wasn't worth going therefor that price. Service was quick and efficient, place was a bit old yet clean. Overall, I won't be back, but also am not hereto say it was bad. Again, it was a textbook average AYCE experience. Read more
Sushi was ok, ice cream had freezer burn. younger server was good. Place was dirty, older lady working there was terrible. you... actually get 3 tries to order, we only ordered 3 times (bare minimum food, some of the food never even came.). In fairness wehad to wait on a friend (about 1 hr) - But we were asked when we were going to leave 5 times in the 2 hours we were there withdirty looks by this lady?. The restaurant was empty. She got a poor tip for this behaviour and so she started speaking about usin another language to a colleague, actually also got insulted in English lol. Read more
This place is family owned and the staff is very friendly. I have ordered sushi on multiple occasions and it?s always been very... tasty. The food is very reasonably priced. If you are looking to dine-in, it?s not my type of place but take out is superb. Read more
Gallery Sushi, I wish you were a perfect work of art. Too bad there's some room for improvement. Located beside AGO, I called... ahead at lunch to order the Combination Bento Box. It comes with an assortment of teriyaki, tempura, sushi/sashimi/maki. Goodway to pig out for lunch, as I was headed to a venue that was inconvenient for dinner. Despite the not-so-cleansed appearanceof empty beer cans at the counter front, the two-person kitchen team seemed to be productive. I received my takeout order beforemany tables there for AYCE. Salmon, tuna, butterfish and tilapia sashimi (10pc) tasted fresh as can be expected. Shrimp &vegetable tempura (7 pcs) were fried till slightly dry. The teriyaki salmon was lightly-seasoned so the fillet flavour was a bitoff. Quantity over quality. Along with fried tofu, rice, miso soup & salad, the portion was nearly enough for 2 meals. As partof my current menu capture, I noticed the pricing was lower than was quoted to me over the phone. First, the owner explained itwas due to me not asking for lunch pricing. Then when I showed her dinner menu needs an update to reflect it, she indicatedprices increased on their (non-existent) website. Sometimes it's hard to be a good foodie! Read more
Pretty let down by this place. First time in, and it will be the last. First impressions are a dirty and unkept place that?s in... serious need of some attention. I can appreciate that the pandemic has been rough on sales and maybe there?s little to no sparemoney to do renovations, but that doesn?t excuse dirty floors, dust on nearly every surface in the kitchen, grease caked onequipment, and so forth. Seeing as the only employee was sitting there playing on his phone with headphones on when I walked inis a clear indication their priorities are more in line with killing time as opposed to doing some basic cleaning. As for thefood, it didn?t taste fresh, and what you?re looking at is 2 California rolls. My suggestions would be to do a full cleaning ofthe place, and some basic maintenance, all of which would cost no more than some cleaning supplies and a few rags. If that can?tbe done, then I question their standards for food safety and storage. This place will likely be closed within a few months atthis rate. This isn?t sustainable. Read more
We tried all you can eat menu and it was fresh and tasty. Their menu has three columns for 3 calls that you can have for all you... can eat menu and was interesting and I liked it. First time there today and won?t be my last. It was such a lovely little shop, I enjoyed the selection on the menus and the food... was delicious, the server was very sweet and I really appreciate the older gentleman who was at the counter making the food, hehad so much concentration on every order he made.
