Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night, really enjoyed the food and how attentive and nice the servers were. I really like... how cosy the restaurant is and the open kitchen where you can actually see the chefs. (You don't really get to see who cooksyour food most of the time) My cousin and I ordered The Prix Fixe for 2 ($99.95), which was recommended by the host. From thatdeal you are able to choose from: 1 Appetizer: Escargots Spicy Shrimp 1 Main: Cotes de Boeuf Rack of Lamb Duck Margret (Servedwith fries and salad) 2 Desserts: Creme Brûlée Chocolate Mousse Crepe (Sugar, Chocolate or Lemon) We ordered the Escargot,Duck, Creme Brûlée and Chocolate crepe. Everything we had was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My favourite was the escargot! Itwas tender and creamy but not heavy at all. It was paired with some baguette toasts which I loved. The duck was delicious tooand the bed of fries that came with it tasted better than Costco fries ( and we all know how good Costco fries are). i moved from the west end to the east, and was thrilled to find out that not only did jules have a location here too, they're... also taking the right steps in ensuring that their staff and customers are as safe as can be during the pandemic. because ofthis, my partner and i were able to safely celebrate our anniversary without the need to take on unnecessary risks. always agreat time. can't wait to go back. I've been to all locations of Jules Bistro including the Spadina location when it was open. They've done a good job in creating... a great ambience in all their locations. Their food is traditional french rather than fancy french. It feels like the menu isdesigned to leave the diner satisfied rather than impress them. That is great if you are looking for a reliably good meal. Theportion sizes are decent. Their steak frites is really good and comes with salad and mayo on the side. They have a chicken and afish (grilled salmon) version of the dish which are equally good. Their desserts are presented in a simple manner. The tarte ofthe day was tart tatin (apple) and lemon tart on the day we visited. The crepes come in a choice of dark chocolate, powderedsugar or lemon. Read more
Went here with a large group of 8 on a Friday night. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. The service was a bit slow, they were... forgetting simple things like cutlery and water. We waited over an hour for our food but it was delicious and extremelyflavourful. We got the octopus and the cote de boeuf which was exceptional! Read more
Booked a reservation on a weekday through Open Tables as my friend and I were always curious what French food tasted like. To... our surprise it wasn’t anything special. We started with a salmon tartare which was okay and we both ordered a medium raresteak frites but got steaks that could’ve used a few more minutes. As the night progressed and more tables were being filledat the restaurant our server diverted his attention to other customers as we waited around 20 minutes for our bill, it appearsthere are only 2 waiters for this restaurant. It was worth of a visit at Jules Bistro ! Foods were excellent so as the drinks The waiters were busy but they were very... friendly. We had a good time there. The only thing for me is that I had a good meal, I was satisfied but I was not impressed. Iguess it is because the menu has been using for too many similar restaurants, it's a safe car to play but I wish to see someinnovative ideas for the price! Read more
