I order from skip it was good price for calamari dinner. Huge rice, Calamari, potato?s, Greek salad and bread. Fresh and tasty... good but calamari is less I thought but still great. Read more
Probably one of the worst Greek food experiences that I've had. We ordered a pork souvlaki dinner and paid extra for a large.... Did not look like a large. Also, the meat was quite dry. We also ordered a trio of dips for $19 and paid extra $3 for extrapita. The dips were all nasty. The taramasalata had a sour taste to it, the tirosalata was made clearly with cream cheese andnot feta, the mezelitsalata (the eggplant one, pardon my spelling) was just one big taste of raw garlic. These dips also came insmall take out styrofoam coffee cups - talk about an unappetizing, ghetto packaging for $19. All in all, it was $60 for a'large' pork souvlaki, 3 dips and some soggy pita. I should have ordered from Astoria as the food there is always legit, tastyand fresh, but these guys had a special 'no delivery fee' on UberEATS. The moral of the story is that it's on sale for a reason. Read more

Fast server and great food! Ordered Fried Calamari and Chicken Souvlaki Dinner. Chicken souvlaki was cooked perfect. Moist in... the inside and had the perfect char on the outside. Potatoes were seasoned nicely and one of the best Greek salads I?ve tried inThe Danforth. I would have given Kalyvia a perfect 5 star if the Calamari was cooked thoroughly. I went with a friend for an early dinner on a Thursday (~5pm). As a highly reviewed Greek restaurant in Greektown my... expectations were very high being a Greek food lover. Ambiance wise, the restaurant is cozy inside and when the weather is nicethey have the front open (it was quite a sight to see pigeons walking around inside), there is also a beautiful textured muralset into the wall. Food wise, we ordered lamb and chicken souvlaki entrees which came with Greek salad (very standard), rice andpotatoes (plain), and bread (highly enjoyable). We weren't a fan of the lamb as it tasted more gamey than usual (although somemay enjoy that) while being stiffer/drier than anticipated; the chicken was definitely better, but nothing special flavor wise.We also tried the cheese pie which our waiter lit and while it was an enjoyable experience, and paired wonderfully with thebread, the cheese was a bit too salty! Service wise, our waiter was friendly enough, but at the end she rushed us for our billsbecause she was clocking off (probably to ensure she got her tip)...she did let us know we could order more stuff from hercoworker, but we were also the only diners at the time so it was a bit annoying. Overall I find food the most important aspectof a dining experience and I just found it ok overall - but that's not to say I'd find other menu items more enjoyable. Read more
