Deliciously satisfying spot for a late night burger with perfect fresh cut fries. The burgers had a great crispy crust, were... seasoned well and I also appreciated how well dressed the burger was (with all the toppings in every bite! ???? ???? ???? Lotsof cold drink options, really great service and overall amazing burger experience. Keep in mind there is a staircase leadingdown to access the restaurant. Read more

So glad that there's now a decent gourmet burger place that we can go to. We used to get our burger cravings with another known... burger chain in the same area (well known for their "secret menu" and religious connotation) but lately we're not happy with thequality of their burgers anymore. Came during lunch time and place was pretty quiet. The lone staff (who was also theManager/Cashier/Cook) was very nice, friendly and helpful. They have a daily special of Smash Burger, Fries, Drink and theprice was pretty reasonable. We upgraded the fries to onion rings for $1.50 more and hands down was one the best onion rings inToronto. Thick slices of onions were deep fried to crunchy golden-brown perfection. The smash burger with its tender juicymeat, creamy cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and their zesty signature sauce on a toasted bun was satisfyingly good! Alsotried one of their Signature Burger - Big Egg Theory. The soft egg yolk and oozing melted cheese breaks and seeps into the beefpatty making a heavenly combination of taste and texture. Can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu. Read more

Thus was an interesting experience. Coming to Toronto I did not want to eat at any big chain restaurants. I found Matt's Burger... Lab and decided to try it out. This location is in the basement, with stairs going down, if you have mobility issues. I orderedthe pineapple smash burger, fries and a vanilla milkshake. The food tasted really good however the pineapple on the burger wassizzling hot (and slightly spicy). I am sure that I burned the top of my mouth with that pineapple. The fries tasted like theywere fresh cut and it's hard to mess up a vanilla milkshake (and they did not mean it up). My only gripe, I thought it wasfairly expensive, $27 + tip = $30 for burger, fries and a milkshake. Next time I come to Toronto with my family you just mightcatch us at Matt's Burger Lab. Read more

Burger and fries were great. Smash burger was great with the house sauce and fries were well-seasoned without being... invasive. What sucked was the atmosphere. It?s in a dingy basement, quite dark with top 40s blasting on the speakers. Apersonal preference, but changed the experience. I?d take out again, but I wouldn?t come back in. Read more

We used to order from this place 2-3 months ago when the burgers were fantastic. The patty was not smashed and the burgers had... fresh veggies as well (lettuce, tomatoes, onion). Now the burgers are disappointing, just a smashed patty with pickles. Pleasesee pictures below. The first picture is the burger now ( just a patty, cheese , pickles and a bun). The last two pictures arehow the burgers were before ( with lettuce, tomatoes, onion). I would not recommend this place. Read more

Great burger and poutine! I always seem to find the best places somehow. :) They've got some good Poutine and really great... burgers! Every ingredient was prepared perfectly, the bacon xrisp, the bun firm, the beef juicy. Good sauce and pickles & onionswere tasty too. They even have gluten-free buns and the best part is the burger came with no tomatoes! ???? Read more

Little burger joint half under ground in centre Toronto. Nice place with lots of arts on the wall, really attentionate and... polite staff. As for the food the burgers are really good, lots of choices on the menu, some originals ones and they are prettybig by themselves. The combo with fries and drink is for big eaters, but the fries are excellent. Overall, I would reallyrecommend this place as it is not that expensive for the service and food you get. Read more

I have a few places to choose from when I want a burger but I always come back to this place. Friendly service and a delicious... burger. I typically just get a burger but they sometimes throw in some fries. I also like the note attached and how they areappreciate the support. It?s been a tough 2 years and I?m happy to support a place like this. Read more
