If you love seafood like me, you definitely need to go to Rodney’s! The oysters are very fresh, flavour wise is not that... strong but still good enough! The onion ring is so good as well. Very crispy and well seasoned. The Manhattan chowder is notbad, but the seafood flavour is not that rich if I am honest. Finally, for our mains, they are served in a large wood board (aswe are sharing the food) which did make the food more mouth watering. Scallop was really good, well cooked, crispy outside stillmedium inside, high quality scallops. Sea bass is good too, if they can use some local fish (ours come from Greece) then it willbe better. Crab cake is not bad, generous portions and full of crab meat but again the crab flavour doesn’t stand out. Lobsterroll, looks better than it taste, it is the only dish that below the standard indeed. I literally can’t taste the lobsterflavour at all. The brioche is good though, toasted well. Service was good as well, server was friendly and did give goodexplanation to the food! Overall, food are reasonably price with decent good portion! Rodney’s will definitely be on my listto come back again! Read more

My girlfriend had a craving for oysters so I made the reservation for this spot as it's the only place in downtown Toronto that... I knew that is known for oysters imported from the west and east coasts, as well as an array of options to choose from. I'veonly been to Rodney's once in Vancouver many years ago and I had a great experience. I'm happy the quality and friendly serviceis still consistent till today. For oysters, we chose 4 different types - half salty and half creamy. I favoured creamy moreoversalty. The server was great at helping us choose 4 different kinds we had to try. On top of oysters, we ordered a side of skinnyfries, mussels and scallops. Everything was great except for the mussels which we found the flavours too salty and strong forour liking. This was more than enough food for 2 persons, but 3 would've been the perfect portions. Read more

First time here with my best friend. As soon as we entered, the hostess was very welcoming, checked on our table (we made... reservations), and then seated us. We were both excited since we had never been to an oyster bar/restaurant. Jimmy came to ourtable and was very kind and helpful as we had no clue what oysters to order. He arranged a little mixed plate of six to start. They were amazing and so fresh! We loved them all and ordered another plate. We also couldn't choose from the menu on the mainsas everything looked good. We went with the Sea Fry and the Nice Fundy Scallops. The chocolate mousse was so yummy and decadent(sorry, didn't get a pic because we finished it so fast). The food was fantastic! Service for the rest of the night was great! We also purchased Rodney's Seawitch sauce after trying it on the oysters. This was one of the best food experiences we've had inToronto and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend to all, especially lovers of oysters and seafood! Read more

Come for the Oysters!! Duh it’s in the name. Had a great meal at Rodney’s. Oysters were so fresh and they had such a wide... variety - it was nice to try something we have never had before. Our server made some great recommendations based off ourprevious preferences, likes and dislikes. Tuna tartar was fantastic, recommended ordering that on your next visit. Now thereason this review is only a 4/5 stars - as a party of 8 we were subject to 18% auto gratuity which we were unaware of, whichresulted in us tipping our server a 38% tip on all four of our bills. We only noticed the next day on the fine print of thebill. Our mistake but after a few cocktail who’s reading the fine print anyways. This will not deter us from coming back, nowwe just know for next time. Favourite new oyster - the Kumamoto from Japan, tiny but packed with tons of flavour. Recommendordering on your next outing to Rodney’s! Read more

Amazing place! No wonder it was ranked as the top spot for seafood in Toronto! The variety and freshness of the oysters are... uncomparable to anything I've had in Toronto! The lobster was just too good! And the special pan seared halibut with grilledoctopus is as fine as it can get! The sauce for the dish was nothing short of spectacular! And don't even think of missing theChocolate mousse!! Overall would definitely come back again!! The staff were brilliant!! Read more

Rodney's was very average. We sat on the patio, which is a lovely outdoor space; however, the food was neither bad nor... exceptional. Suffice to say, there must be better options for seafood. Server didn't quite deliver. All plates were brought tothe table at the same time. This made the table very crowded and obviously certain dishes cooled while we worked on ourappetizers. I think it is reasonable to expect appetizers to arrive before the mains. Also had to request that empty dishes becleared. The oysters weren't shucked properly and had some dirt sediments floating about. Aside from that can't really complainbut nothing to rave about either. Read more

All their seafood was fresh and made very very well! If it’s your first time tryingoysters, this is most certainly the place to do it! Read more
