Matter of fact, the taste of Halal Guys isn?t the... same after the takeover from Fransmart, which I can understand because they need to serve the food quickly versus people waitingin line for hours (economies of scale). Yes it looks nice. Everytime it's really tasty and I always receive a good portion of food. But today I was very much... disappointed. Bought a mix of chicken and beef gyro platter(Reg). Half of the platter was just lettuce and tomato. There washardly some meat. Usually they put a good chunk of meat. Giving two stars now. Might change later if the service and food issatisfied. A great indoor version of the popular NYC halal guys cart. The food is great, get lots of the white sauce (they come by to offer... more at the table, which is a great touch. Had their shawarma plate. The rice and chicken were tasty. Had their spicy sauce and hummus which was flavorful and smooth. The... salad with olives gave it a nice texture and flavor. Overall the food was good. Service was fast and friendly. The quantity ofthe food was also pretty good. It is like any other shawarma place and I wouldn't make a special trip downtown to get it again.The price is also on the higher side for a plate of shawarma and they charge extra for hummus. I?ve been to the New York carts and the platter was amazing, just like the one I had at one of the carts. I?ve been to the other... location in Canada as well, that?s in Mississauga, stunning! Food is the same in presentation and taste. Everything was fresh,from the meat to the hummus. The staff was really polite and accommodating to me and my friends. The white sauce was awesome! It was exactly like it was hyped. The fries were delicious as well, can pair it up with any of the... sauces and the side of hummus. Checked out the DT location last weekend and we are impressed by the food quality. The juicy chicken portions are huge and the... platter is loaded with basmati rice, onion, jalapeno, lettuce, olives, and tomatoes. We liked that the hummus, hot sauce, andwhite sauce are offered separately so we can add them the way we want. They were out of red pepper hummus , hope they load itsoon. The hot sauce has a spicy flavor kick to it but it won't burn your lip. The staff was friendly, engaging and enthusiasticabout providing good service.
