It's pretty consistent and affordable, especially for the area. I haven't had too much besides their chicken dinners. Their... grilled chicken is always fresh and has strong grilled flavor. They have a nice selection of sides... more than other Portugueseplaces nearby. I just wish their hot sauce was a little less generic. It's good, but it tastes similar to Frank's or a No Namebuffalo sauce. Read more

The food was good for the most part. We ordered the half chicken dinner combo + small roast beef combo. The roast beef was super... dry... Their menu was small and expensive; portions could be better for the price. Service was ok, they didn't give usutensils... Very small restaurant with very limited seating, so takeout is recommended. Roadside paid parking. Read more

On Saturday night around 9 we noticed this place was packed, took that as a good sign and went in. Ordered half a chicken combo... with comes with two sides, we chose rice and potatoes. It costs around 13 bucks tax in. Hot sauce was put on the side but if youeat in, the are nook style chairs and table, you can have hot sauce in a bottle. The staff were friendly and they accept cardstoo. The chicken was nice, the rice was good and the potatoes were better then other places. They don't have a washroom or widerand more comfortable table but I'll take this place over Swiss chalet anytime! Read more

I've been coming here for a few years and food never disappoints. I like their ribs and fish w/rice. Also not bad jambalaya.

Today I tried a chicken wrap/gyro. It was amazing....great flavour, huge portion, excellent value for the price. I got some... lemon potatoes, and a rotisserie chicken which were great as well. It is a great take out place, never had a long wait, thestaff is always friendly and courteous. I get annoyed at the customers who wait with their heads stuck in their cell-phones,then act all surprised when it is their turn to order, and then start to peruse the menu to decide what they want holding therest of us hostage. Anyhow, it is a great place to get family food. Read more

Extremely good chicken, you'll get a hot wholesome meal. Service is quick although you may find a line, very popular place.... Seating is limited so the majority of the orders we saw were take out. The place looks clean and organized, everything made infront of you. The chicken was tasty and moist, the rice was well seasoned, the fried potato balls were good. Read more

There's restaurants for every occasion : fine French dining, hole-in-the-wall street food joints, cheap eats for the broke and... even Mcdonald's for those drunken moments when you crave meat but prefer the flavor of cardboard and Mac sauce. And thenthere's The Rooster Rotisserie & Grill. The Rooster is for those occasions when all you want is comfort food. To be specific:Portuguese comfort food. Which involves rotisserie chicken, a few different varieties of potatoes and a selection of vegetables. It's a well known fact that potatoes and chicken are the secret to North American gastrointestinal bliss. In some ways TheRooster is very similar to Swiss Chalet in the sense that rotisserie is the common theme. I have always hated the bland flavorsassociated with Rotisserie Chicken restaurants and I was ready to hate The Rooster the moment I was introduced. What changed mymind was their absolutely amazing Chicken Sandwich. Made with freshly cut slices of chicken, vegetables and sauces and assembledright in front of you with bread sourced daily from nearby. It really did reverse my bias against what I had always consideredthe always bland, always sterilized and always flavorless rotisserie white meat restaurant. Always staffed by a bunch of nicepeople who seem to care about the food they make, and the sides are healthy and wholesome. An unassuming restaurant with nofrills that flies under the radar. Very nice patio seating during the Summer is great too. Definitely try : the chickensandwich and ask for a dash of extra hot sauce. So simple. So delicious. Read more
