A definite must in Torrance, CA! I got the traditional ramen and a side of karaage! The ramen was amazing, jam packed with... layers of flavorful broth and the karaage was the crispiest and most tender fried chicken I?ve ever had (and I live inKentucky)! The only Hakata in the US! They?re world-renowned! Read more

Food: The food was great, I had gotten The restaurant special and it was really good. I added a boiled egg for a 2.50 and the... egg not being fully boiled left a slightly uncooked yellow yoke, I tried it and I loved it like that with the broth . I'm can'teat to much spicy but my wife grabbed the firey hot one it was also red and she really liked it. I also grabbed some of thethings that looked like dumplings, they were also good . I was not aware they were sea food treats. I dipped them in my soup. Really good. I got a really good non-carbonated drink called calpico that was delicious. Service : I had a great time with my3 kids and wife. At first they let us sit there for a while then helped us . They gave us our food very fast. The personhelping was a young man great service. I would come back again to try the sweet and sour soup. ! Read more

My parents and I got to enjoy our first delicious meal after a 21 day diet program. A friend of a friend recommended this ramen... house and Hakata Ikkousha delivered way beyond expectation. We had the black (garlic) tonkotsu, sweet & sour tsukemen, and theoriginal tonkotsu. I had the tsukemen (dipping ramen) and it was excellent. It taste more savory with a hint of sweetness andtang. The staff were very accommodating and friendly! I look forward to bringing some friends back here soon! Read more

We are so lucky here to have an abundance of ramen shops. What stands out here is the intensity of the pork broth.  The rich,... fatty broth is overwhelmingly porky. If that sounds too intense you can get a lighter version.  That's just one of a number ofcustomizations you can get.  The noodles are pretty toothsome by default. You can get them softer or harder.  If you need theheat then go for Black Devil. It's solidly spicy!, Ordered also Tonkotsu their signature and best seller, the Ikkousha SpicyKaraage which is very flavorful, crispy and tender and their Kiku Masamune Dry Sake (Hot). Everything here is close toperfection. Free parking on-site and i highly recommend to visit this place while in Torrance! Read more

Went here by chance tonight wanting a hot soup and ordered the Tonkatau Ramen with everything. I have to say I was very... pleasantly surprised. The broth was excellent, the bamboo was fresh and tasty and the Nori was excellent. Pork pieces were agood size and the Wood ear mushrooms were splendid. The combination was like many I?ve had in Taiwan and Japan so it was greatto have those familiar tastes here. I combined this with Karage (fried chicken) which had a wonderful crispy texture althoughthe chicken was a little dry for my taste. I?m retrospect the ramen was easily big enough to be filling so the chicken wasn?tnecessary but I was hungry. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. This is a gem of a ramen shop and worth a visit. I canhighly recommend Read more

I come here for authentic tonkotsu ramen. Ordered with premium toppings which doubles the pork and adds a boiled egg. The... full-flavored pork broth is their specialty here and definitely one of the best around! Highly recommended! Read more

???????? JAPAN (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - For many, tonkotsu broth can be a bit overwhelming with all the porcine glory... of bones and fat remaining in each rich bite, but here like in the Hakata Ward of Fukuoka the broth is clean and lovely. It isby no means light, but it has a care that does not go into many bowls thrown on menus in California. Even if you usually avoidthis style of ramen, it is worth testing it out here for a truer taste of how it should be done. Read more
