I hate having to write a negative review because I am a loyal foodie who's main focus is supporting small family eateries but... nuh huh! My daughter picked this place for the high reviews & didn't turn out so good. I will begin by saying that I called therestaurant and spoke to the gal waitress who gathered our food for pick up; so when I called to let restaurant know, "hey Ithink you need to let your cook know the Shiitake ???? ???????? ???????????? where way salty to the point they were uneatable"-she was not listening and was just trying to rush me off the phone. I spent$54.00 on 2 bowls of "Pork Belly Ramen" with extraveggies, extra Pork Belly, a side of Brussels Sprouts & Bacon -with a "I'm sorry but where's the bacon?" Either they ran out ofShiitakes and used dried ones, you will need to soak the ???????????? in cold water overnight to rehydrate and return them intoa soft and spongy state or they simmered these in soy sauce stock directly because it ruined our broth and we couldn't enjoy theramen- at all. My daughter's is due this month and was her Shoyu craving. Sorry to say will never buy here again. Rushing acustomer in seconds with ok ok ok was very rude to say the least. Read more

Great ramen at a reasonable price. Love that they include the egg and don’t charge extra for it!

The tonkotsu tasted like cheap precooked concentrated soup base from the ramen chain Ajisen Ramen (to be precise). The chashu... slices are tasteless and the meat is tough. Seems like it’s run by Chinese now??? The servers seemed to be from China and theguy working in the kitchen also didn’t look like Japanese. Read more

Good ramen, decent price. Noodles are nice and chewy, and broth is nice salty and flavorful. Two years ago I gave it a five star... review, but things seemed to have changed. The silverware is all plastic and the new spoon is too small to properly eat ramen. The check was placed on our table immediately after receiving our food, which I considered to be a little rude. The waitressalso did not ask if I was finished with my bowl yet and simply took it away. That broth is liquid gold and I was stilldrinking! Maybe just bad experience with one waitress so I still give three stars. Read more

I usually go to Umenoya when I’m in Torrance, but I wanted to try something different. The location is right off the freeway &... convenient. Staff was very nice & welcoming. We ordered Tonkotsu spicy & the Yamadaya tonkotsu. The Spicy had a better flavorprofile & the Yamadaya was much more creamy. The bowls were of decent proportions but bang for buck it’s the Yamadayatonkotsu, You just get so much more. I would definitely come back. Read more

Ramen soup with pork belly and braised pork, fresh garlic, scallion, bamboo shoots, etc, hit the spot of satisfaction/delight.... Hmmm-mm good! Small place with six tables inside, may have to wait if crowded, very popular. Nearby parking lot very small.Located on 182nd St, just before Crenshaw Blvd if driving east (may miss the place if you already reach Crenshaw Blvd). Read more
