I arrived a Papi?s Towson /taco joint on 9/13/2022 at 7:00 pm. I noticed a sign on the door stating that all carry out orders... are subject to a gratuity. Not a good first impression. I went to the bar to place a carry out order. I ordered a Fajita Mixto,Birria tacos and a Signature Altos Margarita. The Margarita was $9.50, served in a tumbler. I watched it being made and therewas nothing impressive about the preparation or the bland taste. I was sure it was a mistake, however it was not. I got my foodto go. There was no gratuity on the check. Total amount for 3 items, $49.50 plus tax, $52.76. I gave a 15% gratuity and left.Total bill with gratuity was $60.18. I took the food home. I was completely disappointed in what I received. The portions wereminuscule and the food was bland. The tortillas were the smallest I have ever seen. A quick estimate of the food cost was about$4.50 for which I paid $49.50. Overpriced small portion bland food is not where I will spend my money. I am one and done. Iwon?t go back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Read more

Family in town and decided to continue my taco journey. Papi's came up as an option. They have an extensive menu and a... "create-your-own" taco where you choose from a list of options and create your taco; 2 tacos per serving. Pretty decent sizewith plenty tables. The waiter was very attentive, checking on us every 2 minutes concerning our order. Once ordered, the tacostook a while to be delivered to the table...maybe 15-20 minutes which was surprising seeing as how the place was empty. Orderedthe vegetarianos, frijoles refritos, and the beyond taco. When they arrived, the tacos were lukewarm at best, cold at worst -not what I expected. The tacos were packed with filling, so it was a little difficult to actually enjoy them. Felt like Ineeded to eat some of the filling separately to get the tacos to a suitable size for downing. The sauces added much neededflavor. You do get large portions; the shrimp nachos were whale-sized. I'd give it a 3-3.5, but the spiked horchata was nice!Average experience overall Read more

Nice little place. Friendly bartender and staff. I sat at the bar. The food was solid and the presentation even better. Ordered... the street tacos with a variety of pork and short rib meats, also added guacamole and mole sauce (which tasted more like BBQ).My beer and four tacos came to $30, which is a bit expensive for one person having lunch, considering the size of the tacos weresmall as well. I don't normally write reviews but this was sad. I don't think I have ever gotten smaller portions for meals. The soft taco's... are so small you need at least 4-6. The entrees are child size. Would not waste your money. Read more

Dynamite burrito. Excellent tableside guacamole. The fajitas were a hit as well--be prepared they arrive smoking--so much so... that it set off the fire alarm--no joke! Friendly staff and convenient location. Read more

The moment that I walked in, my gut said ?leave? but I decided to give a try. My gut was right. I asked the host that I wanted... to order ?to go? she barely answered me saying that I need to go to the bar and she walked away and sit at the bar and grabbedher cell, I was standing there. I thought she was going to give me more info or show me so I asked her again while she was atcell and with an attitude said ?ask anyone here? and back to her cell. Waitress at bar were busy and talking between them so Iasked again. Someone gave the menu, I asked another lady and she answered my question. Ordered. Food tasted horrible. Superpricey. When I opened the box, the tacos are microscopic. The carne asada tasted like nothing and it was cold. The Al Pastorwere even worse. Each tiny and bland tacos cost about $4-5 each! Ridiculous for the quality and size. Beans were just ok. Ricetaste really bad. It?s like microwaveable kind, it?s uncooked. Do not waste your money and time. I do not recommend thisrestaurant. I?m glad that I went grocery store next door and grabbed me some Chicken wings. Read more

Leisurely lunch. Food tasty and nice presentation. $7 enchilada special was just the right size, spiced vixen mule very, very... good, short rib quesadilla was full of meat. Server was a little sassy about corn being gluten free. Great selection of food, regular, gluten free and vegan menus with large selections on each. Decor and music authentic Mexican shabby chic. Parking lotis is better than paid parking in other areas of Towson Read more

Blown away by this place. Hubby and I got a hotel across the street and stumbled upon this place. Bright, fun decor, and... pleasant staff. We went around 5:30 on a Monday and while not packed, it was definitely busy. I saw someone post a review thatthe food was disgusting and that HAS to be a troll. The chips and salsa were excellent- the salsa was SO fresh! Hubby and Ishared: the pepper stuffed with cheese, served with verde salsa, micro greens and sitting on lightly pickled red cabbage. Twotacos, authentic style, short ribs and two tacos authentic style vegetarian. We agreed we have to go back once more before weleave. I included a photo of the create-your-own tacos. Read more
