This is a "must-do" stop for us every time we come to Trail. For many years we've been enjoying the food here, and it has always... been consistently good and reasonably priced. There's a beer hall atmosphere to the place, and locals were invited to bringtheir own pots to fill for take-out, which I thought was cool. But something has changed. We visited last year duringpost-Covid and there was a lingering feeling that rules and regulations had impacted this landmark establishment is a verynegative way. Sure it was still serving great food, but there's some tragic feeling to taking our take-out dinners back to ourhotel in Styrofoam containers and eating our meals. Maybe it's the love that's missing, or simply the decay of downtown Traildue to drugs and substance abuse in the street people... Read more

I heard so much about this place, super stoked to try it and wow?. I couldn?t be more disappointed?. There are so many... croutons on my salad (about a cup, not exaggerating), the lettuce is wilted, the dressing is gross with no flavour at all. Thepasta is (at best) eatable, garlic bread was soggy as well. I won?t go there again or recommend it, sorry guys, do better :/ Read more

Delicious! This is the place to eat in Trail. The dinner menu is pasta mainly, there is a chicken and rib dish as well. I had... baked tortellini, husband had the colander special and my aunt had the chicken dinner. With dinner you get salad and fresh buns.We also had the spumoni ice cream. Went for lunch as well, best beef dip I've ever had! Delicious and not full of fatty bitslike most places serve, the au jus seemed to be real and not from a package. Husband said the burger was great and my aunt had awrap which was huge! Lunch menu has many options, everything was very reasonable price wise. Read more

My husband was excited to share his childhood favorite restaurant. I saw the online menu and thought it'd be quality food given... the prices. The food was disgusting! Tasted like boxed spaghetti with canned sauce. The chicken tasted old. I was very sad giventhe excitement my husband had. I was angry it cost me $86 for the family. I gave my leftovers to a homeless person down thestreet. Read more

The service was decent .the spaghetti was average. It was very loud and was hard to hear in there. It took almost 30 min between... courses and by the time I got my food I wasn't even hungry anymore, took over an hour for the food to come out and the garlicbread was like a crouton. My wife liked the tortellini. I can't comment on the chicken because after the salad and a bun andwaiting a half hour for the spaghetti and another half hour for the chicken I was not hungry anymore. I would not recommend thisplace Read more

Truly a staple to the community. I am not usually a spaghetti fan... yet I find myself bugging my fiance to bring some home at... least once a week when he can. Thank you to all the Colander staff for their services. Even ordering out on the phone isdelightful. You have saved me hours of cooking, dishes, and make my kids beam with happiness and tomato sauce all over theirfaces. Read more
