Sbarro in the Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City, MI is a place that my wife and I loved to go for their spinach pizza and... there stromboli. I am sad to say that after a year and a half of not being able to go there and eat, our experience at sbarrotoday was truly disappointing. We walked up to the counter, looked through the glass. The pizzas looked dried out and thestromboli looked like it was sitting under the lamp for quite awhile. The Stromboli was very greasy/oily and tasted stale. There were charred bits on the underside of the food where they put it into the oven to heat it up... The pizza, when it cameout of the oven from reheating, looked drier and not very appealing at all...of course we had paid for the food before our orderwas completed so we just suffered with it. Sbarro, we used to love your food. What is going on? I understand that with thepast couple of years of uncertainty, with the pandemic and all, things are not as they used to be, but to let your quality andhigh standards slip to such a low level is not understandable. I used to eat here weekly as I work in the mall. It?s obvious there?s been an unfortunate change in management. Everytime I go... to order there is barely any food out, it?s burnt, old, and not appealing at all.. I choose elsewhere to eat. I observe otherslook and walk away. Many lost sales. I finally purchased the other day and my ziti was full of liquid, my strom was undercookedwith very little inside toppings. I ate half of each item and tossed the rest. The lady with short hair and glasses was not comprehending much at all for some reason with multiple customers, we just wanted... breadsticks and she made it way more complicated for young man at register and was clearly making his job harder she needs tostay away from taking orders 4 customers in a row had hard time explaining to her but man at register got it quick and easy butshe kept stepping in making it harder for him. Usually have no problems with this place, the staff are great and it's good food. However today just before i ordered one of the... staff members accidentally dropped the meatballs into the heating water. She asked her fellow employee to help get the tray outof the water with the tongs he was serving the food with and instead of getting a clean pair after dipping them into the waterhe just rinsed them off in the sink and retrieved my food with them. It was very unappealing to eat the food that was justtouched with the tongs that was dipped in the heating water and I would think grabbing a clean pair would of been what would ofhappened usually. Like I said before the staff are great and the food is good but I'm pretty certain this is not how theemployees were trained. Read more
Crust was undercooked. Sauce was bland. Cheese was OK . Toppings were OK. Overall - MEH!
