I had joked with my boyfriend about wanting to find good barbecue in Maine, because well, it's lobster country. When we saw... Smokey's BBQ & Lobster Pound on the way to Acadia for the day, I thought two things: 1) what is a lobster pound? And 2)obviously we have to try the barbecue. After a long day ar Acadia, we stopped in to check it out. We split the lobster andbarbecue (got ribs on staff recommendation) dinner and added on a side. Wow! Our meal came out with a wonderful presentation. Wewasted no time getting into it. After enjoying the claws, we went in for ribs, which easily came from the bones but were notfalling off. Perhaps they could have had a little bit more smoke to the flavor, but they were delicious nonetheless. We gotpotato salad and baked beans for our side, along with corn. Salad and beans were phenomenal. For all parts of this meal, is wasvery clear that everything had been made fresh for that day. Food aside, dining areas inside and out were clean. We did not waitlong for our food to come and the staff were friendly and kind. I'm glad I saw this place and would recommend it to others. Read more
Yummy roadside BBQ/Lobster stop just off the island. I had the brisket sandwich which was great. The onion rings are more like... onion straws. Counter service. Soda in the cooler. Picnic table type seating inside or on the patio. Read more
Brisket and pulled pork was good. The ribs were smoked but way too long as they were dry and tough. I tried dipping mine and... butter but it did not help. All three meals that had ribs in them had the same problem of them being dry and tough. The waitstaff was very nice and friendly and helpful but unfortunately we took our order to go, so we didn't find out about the ribsuntil we got to our destination. One of the best lobster joints in Maine!! I had the smoked lobster with fries and coleslaw. The seasoning and smokiness of the... lobster was outstanding! I've tried several joints along the Maine coast and Somkey's is at the top of my favorites. Read more

Very good brisket and lobster! The bbq is top quality! We are from Texas and know good bbq when we taste it????????. Fresh,... delicious lobster roll (not the biggest for the ~30$) very good and buttery. ????????????Coleslaw has pineapple in it!!YUM! Potato salad is also the perfect amount of creamy and tangy. Came here for lunch after arriving in Trenton. We started off with some steamers. Wow, those were amazing, the best clams I've... ever had! Such a lovely sweetness to them unlike anything you'd get in Michigan. Our entree was the lobster roll. Today was theday I Iearned that Maine Lobster is not a gimmick! It really is better! Great food! Taste was on point! Juicy as hell and the perfect amount of fat was left on the meat. Sausage casing was a bit too... thick, but otherwise tasted good. Fries were so good my girlfriend ate all of hers and half of mine! Read more
