Best Jamaican food I ever had and I?ve had a lot! The place was super clean and the young lady helping us was SUPER friendly... which made the experience even better. I hate to say this, many establishments act as if you owe them something or you?rebothering them. Not this place, the whole experience was great from the time I entered to the time I left. The only reason Ispent a lot is because we never been and wanted to try a few things. The prices were in the normal range as other places, maybea few dollars more but it was worth it. In the photo is a beef patty, stew beef, stew chicken and oxtail. The crust of thepatty was perfectly balanced with that nice soft crisp when biting into a pastry. Best beef patty I ever had. I?m so glad Iresearched a new spot to try. I will be returning often. For those that like lighthouse in the area, FORGET IT! If you want 5star food and service go here. Read more

The food is very expensive and is small in portions. There spinach, chicken, and veggie patties are good. And the curry... chickpeas is tasty. Once, I ordered jerk chicken and it was pink in the inside. I realized this after driving 25 minutes home.So I called and let girl know and she tried explaining to me that that is how it looks on the inside but it's not undercooked. Iwasn't convinced and didn't eat it. She didn't try to remedy the issue. I ended up losing $14-$15. Since then, I only orderpatties or the curry chickpeas. It so expensive for 2 patties its $7-$8. It's been different prices a few times. When I ordereda small chickpea platter and a spinach patty, it came to $20 and the portion was very small. Needless to say, I just stick toone or two patties mostly the spinach because I dont know any other Jamaican spots that sell them and thats when I have a tastefor them. Read more

Go elsewhere for you hard earned dollar. Food is just ok. But the prices and portion sizes are ridiculous. You can get better... and more food for a cheaper price at other nearby Jamaican restaurants. Pulse they?re rude. When you walk into the restaurantthey act like you?re a bother to them. Read more

Yum-azing! The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen within the Galleria Mall in White Plains, NY was an unexpectedly delicious find! Tried the... curry chicken, rice and beans, cabbage and carrots with a delicious sauce. All very affordably priced and carefully and proudlyplated and served with the most friendly smile I?ve seen in a long while! I highly recommend and look forward to coming backnext time I?m in town! We frequent this restaurant often, so for this latest setback to have us floored is disappointing. We ordered the oxtail... platters. Mine small, husband's large. We both received 4 oxtails each. The ONLY difference in the platters (other than the $5difference) was his had more RICE and CABBAGE. Called to ask WHY this happened, was offered ONE more oxtail if I came backacross town the pick it up. Food delicious, portions for the price, unacceptable. Read more

Every time I've ordered food from here I've not had a bad experience, overall. The food and service has been good. On my last... visit, I ordered curry goat and there was a dagger of a bone in there. It was so sharp that it would have severely damaged theroof of my mouth had I not been careful and caught it. I understand how goat is prepared and there has to be a better way toensure sharp bones aren't in the food. Such an unpleasant experience. BE CAREFUL Y'ALL. The flavors were good, though. Veggiepatties were not good overall; they left an unpleasant aftertaste. My friend agreed. It can be a dangerous eating experiencedepending on what you get, hence the 4 stars. I'd recommend the place and visit again, just be careful. Read more

We had our take-out from The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen last night. It was our fist experience with this research, and it is... difficult to leave a review after sampling one dish only. But our oxtail stew was very good. Even though it was priced somewhathigher than what offer other area's Jamaican and Creole restaurants, the overall impression was good. The trick with oxtail isthe proportion of meat vs side dishes. The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen gives you quite a lot of meat. The choice of sides is very goodtoo. The food preparation is delicious. Even though the restaurant is located some distance from us (Ewing to Mercerville), thefood arrived hot and securely packaged, no spills. We will definitely order from The Scotch Bonnet Kitchen again. Read more
