We came here last night(Sunday the 4th) for a work Christmas party, there were about 35 of us. The food, the service, the... atmosphere, were all top notch. I had the 2 pieces of fish and the rest of my table ordered the prime rib and fettuccine Alfredo. All dishes were awesome(I may have had a bite of the prime rib!) Just finished a spectacular meal at the Golden Valley Restaurant in Trenton. Never stopped there before but will definitely be... back! Greeted by Peter, gracious and very pleasant he gave us great suggestions for our first time there. A good size portionof Prime rib that was tender and juicy with sautéed mushrooms and onions with a Greek rice that was perfectly cooked. Greeka Salad with grilled chicken and the homemade French onion soup was delicious. Not too salty and full of flavor. Greatexperience and worth pulling off the 401 to enjoy a great meal. My Wife and I ate there this evening for Thanksgiving Sunday. We started with Escargot and the house soup Beef and Barley. Both... were delicious and well prepared. We both ordered the turkey dinner, one white meat one dark. So delicious! Juicy and perfectlycooked with mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables. Our server?s name was Donna. She was friendly, quick, personable andprofessional. Ask for her you?ll be glad you did. Overall we give the Golden Valley a 10 out of 10! Food was delicious. Quality, fresh ingredients, portions were good. Restaurant itself could use some attention. Some updates to... decor, some cleaning in crimps and crevices that gets missed. Food was fantastic. Order took a while to get ready however the taste of the food made it worth the wait! Kids were kept busy... with crayon and paper. Went tonight for my husbands birthday. Was told this was the place to go for prime rib. He is dealing with throat cancer... issues but can eat rare prime rib. Get there and was told the prime rib is medium to well. Cant eat that, only other thing onthe menu he could eat was pasta. Ordered fettuccine alfredo. It was overcooked mush, no seasonings, the most unappealing,tasteless dish I've ever seen. My veal was dry, potatoes cold and some frozen veg. So disappointed, it came recommended. I've driven by the Golden Valley in Trenton for several years and always thought it was a Chinese Restaurant! It was my wife's... birthday and we were going out for dinner and the other couple suggested the Golden Valley as they had been there after learningit wasn't what they thought. So we checked the menu and it looked great. I had one of the best burgers (bacon/cheddar with theworks - well done and very juicy!) I have had in a LONG time (perfect onion rings and fries). My wife LOVES Stiploin steaks andshe decided to try the special ... thinly sliced roasted Striploin ... and she thought it was awesome! Needless to say, wewill be back! And our server? One of the largest in Trenton. But I think the food quality is not up to the standards expected. French onion soap seems like a... half hearted affair with the cheese just plunked on top like an afterthought. The beef patty in the burger is bland andtasteless. At least the service is good. Read more
