Good food with excellent service at a reasonable price in a nice area of the city.

We called in here on a Monday evening and the two of us doubled the clientele . i do not understand why as the food was... reasonably priced , staff pleasant and the salmon i had was out of this world . they also have many craft beers which was verynice indeed . Stopped by this restaurant on our road trip and quite pleased with our dinner. The service was slow as it was great weather and... the terrace was full. The presentation of the plates was amazing, and poke bowls were very fresh (could use a bit less vinegarthough?the salmon poke bowl is a bit too sour for my taste). The nachos were amazing! So I have 2 things to preface here, the first is that I have a DEP in Cuisine d'Établissement, IE I'm a (trained) professional... chef (no experience in the field it was a stepping stone) and this place was 3rd on my list, I wanted to go to a microbrewery,closed for renovations, then a taqueria (kitchen just closed) and this was the suggestion. Honestly it's fine, nothing specialnothing terrible, took the spicy beef tartar and it passes but just so, I found the parmesan petals to be either low quality,old and stale, or a pecorino or other parmesan that I don't consider a parmesan (by that I mean parmaggiano reggiano, feel freeto tell me I'm wrong); so meal done looking around (a very impressive showcase of a bar tbh) I go to pay and I'm like okstandard 15% tip, nothing great but nothing bad, their machine is made so the first option (which I SWEAR that on 99% of machineis 15%) was 18% , a sneaky trick all told and I make enough scratch to not make a fuss, paid and decided to include it in myvacation review, this place probably thrives on people being drunk and not noticing this little detail and if I can make 2-3people not go to this place, itll outqeight this 3%, I'll tip you higher if your service deserved it, this was standard at best.I cannot recommend going to this place, it's ok. Went for lunch with wifey on a Friday. I had the pâté chinois tartare, oysters, and some wine. Wifey had a duck grill cheese.... We both really enjoyed our food. Service was nice and polite. Server could speak some English. NZ sav blanc was nice. We woulddefinitely go back again. Read more

Superbe repas, cocktails délicieux! This restaurant was an amazing find during our trip. There was a special three course meal... going on featuring local cheeses and that maple dessert felt like it was designed for me! Highly recommend to anyone. Read more
