I wanted some ribs tonight and the closest place is Billy Sims. My husband was adamant about not getting them. He said, ?Seems... like they use St Louis style ribs. Excellent tender BBQ all around! Slow cooked meats with fast service! Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, etc. - you name it! All the... appropriate sides, Cornbread, Beans, Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob, etc. Excellent house brand sauce choices! Turtle browniesand other desserts. Souvenirs as well. Super friendly people! I don?t usually write reviews like this but hands down one of my go to bbq places when in Troy! Every time I go, I am reminded... just how much I love it all over again. Not only is the food super tasty but everyone on their team always has the best attitudeand is always willing to answer questions when I have them. Was not too pleased with the quality of the food. Spent 60 for my family of three. My daughter's ribs were red on the inside and... super chewy and her mac and cheese was cold. My side of mac and cheese was cold as well. On the plus side the sauces were goodand the staff seemed pleasant. Read more
I was Today Years Old when I found out about Billy Sims Barbecue. GREAT FOOD! GREAT SERVICE! GREAT PEOPLE! They make you feel at... home. This place has gone downhill, unfortunately probably because of the pandemic. We ordered the pulled pork, polish sausage, hot... links and brisket. Everything was cold, and dry except for the pulled pork. The sides of mac and cheese and baked beans werefine, not amazing. The worst was the brisket which is supposed to be soft and tender but it was really hard, like an over cookedsteak. 16 ounces of meat for 34$ is a lot and it definitely was not worth it. Ok, so I actually *like* Billy Sim's BBQ. It's consistent, not over priced and I'm in and out of here in no time. Recently,... they've started offering lunch specials. While it's a decent deal, I wish they didn't upcharge for the brisket, or the mac andcheese. It's kind of limited to the chopped chicken and like 2 sides. I went with the beans. Staff here's friendly, food tastesgood and I never have a problem. Will continue to frequent on the regular. Go check it out! Read more
