Not really a Famous Dave's location, I'm honestly not even sure why they would put that name on it since it's actually in... Granite City but maybe there's a small Famous Dave's kitchen in there or something? It took us a minute to find it and we had tore-check the email receipt for our online order to see that it said to pick it up in Granite City. The food was ok, the meatthat both I and the person I was with got was a little over cooked/dry (ribs, brisket, & burnt ends.) The cornbread was also alittle hard/crispy on the bottom but also not dry, and the sides we got were good (mac&cheese, beans, and fries.) I honestlycan't say I'd recommend this place to anyone but it's been so long since I've been to an actual Famous Dave's location that Ican't tell if it's just the strange location of this restaurant in particular or the franchise itself that made the food subpar. If I could leave a zero star I would. This place has the worst customer service ever. Upon entering the restaurant there was... nobody at the front counter for 15 minutes. When the girl returned to the front counter she did not even greet any of thecustomers (there now was 5 people waiting to get their orders or get seated). She just had a stoic demeanor like she clearlydoesn't want to be there. I waited over 45 minutes for my order after the time that it was promised when I ordered online. Atthat point I just asked for a refund because I no longer wanted the food. They said that they could not refund the order andthat only the general manager could do it. Of course, surprise surprise the general manager was not there and the kitchenmanager was no help either. I was told the general manager would not be able to refund my order until the next day! I have neverheard of such a thing! Mind you she said that she would be refunding it while she is working remotely at home, but it made nosense on why she could not refund me right then and there if shes able to access their servers from home to "issue a refund thenext day". I can't speak on the quality of the food because I did not even leave with any Food, and at this point nor have Ireceived a refund. Would not recommend! Read more
This is not Famous Dave's ribs! These ribs were not cooked over an open flame. They actually taste like they were frozen and... then unthawed and put in the oven. If you are looking for the great taste of Famous Dave's ribs, then please do not order fromGranite City/Famous Dave's, it is definitely not the real thing! Yuck! So disappointed ????!!! Read more
This place DO NOT serve Famous Dave's food. The spareribs and pulled chicken (which wasn't pulled it was cut up pieces of... chicken) was baked in the oven, there was no smoked flavor at all. If I could have given them a negative star I would have. Thepicture a piece of chicken from their pulled chicken sandwich. Read more
I used to go to the one in Rochester when it was open so I thought I would give this a try. My chicken was dried out and cold -... as was my corn. The corn bread was hard as well. The only thing hot was the beans and the brisket was like warm. When I got thefood it had just came to the front of the restaurant from the kitchen so I don?t know how it was low that. Would not recommend. I placed a large online order directly from the Famous Dave's website at 11:00 am on Mother's Day for a 5... pm pickup, and I received confirmation that the order was processed and my credit card was charged. Just as we were going topick up our meal, I happened to check my e-mail and saw that Famous Dave's sent a message saying my order was canceled at 4:35pm and the reason given was "No famous orders." Why would they confirm my order if they weren't going to make the food?! Wetried calling the restaurant (Granite City was the only number listed for them) to find out why they cancelled but the person onthe phone couldn't give an answer and the manager was too busy to come to the phone. We were told a manager would call us back,but we haven't received a call yet. Totally disappointed in the lack of follow-up and we're reconsidering ever going back toGranite City as well since they share the kitchen and most likely the same staff. Read more
If they can't do any better with the pick up concept operated.out of Granite City, they should close it. What a negative... reflection on the famous Dave's brand. Food sits in the entry way -getting cold while the granite city staff waits on othercustomers. Ordered a feast for 2- 50% of the content was.missing. Had to go back in Granite city and wait for the rest of myorder, while the other half of my order got cold. The first.hostess was not good. The manager was.great.and.resolved theshortages. The food was good; however, the portion sizes were small. I had the brisket and beans. The Troy location is inside of Granite... City and Granite doesn't control what happens with the food. It's sold as is. For example, they couldn't remove the jalapenosfrom the mac and cheese. Also, they didn't have any extra barbecue packs. My husband didn't receive a lot of fries and theywere a mixture of crinkle and waffle fries. Granite wouldn't give him anymore. I will not revisit this location. Read more
