My family threw an 80th birthday party at Grand Tavern in Troy last night and I could not ask for anything to be more perfect. ... Anton, his amazing staff and the 4 choices of food was perfect. The salmon was cooked to perfection as was the steaks and theyaccommodated vegans. The table layout gave us plenty of room and the open windows, fresh air made us feel safe. We went here to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We had never been before and we went on a Monday around 6:00 p.m. It was... extremely busy ( I believe it was due to happy hour ending right at 6:00). When we walked in, we thought that there was awonderful selection of food and dessert. We ordered fried oysters, crab legs, the seafood platter, the Asian glazed salmon andthe kids grilled cheese. Everything was mediocre at best. The rice was undercooked and the veggies were still hard on both ofour dinners. My salmon was very dry and crispy. It took two and a half hours for us to complete our experience. For the foodquality I rate this a 2. For the service I rate this a 4. So on average 3 stars. Read more

Great service, good drinks and atmosphere, and the food was okay. It was packed and Hubby and I didn't have a reservation. We... ate at the bar. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer, and it was good. Hubby ordered a ribeye steak (medium) and I ordered thelamb chops. I don't usually do buffet style cuisine because I don't eat a ton of food but this place was awesome, the variety of food... selections were endless and our server Olivia was super nice, attentive and complementary. We had a party of 20 and service was great for just 2 people serving us, would have given the staff a lot less stress if there... were 3. But the food was good, atmosphere is welcoming, and staff was on it all night. Great job guys. Read more

All of... the food was good but nothing stood out as spectacular, which is the reason for 4 stars. It's $25 per person for the brunchbuffet so make sure you're hungry.
