Nice hangout place. Good brewery
Large taproom that feels like a mix of a canteen and your living room. Eight beers on tap and plenty of bottles and cans in the... fridge. They also have a vintage shelf where you can find special brews like the Jewbilation from the last couple of years.Dedicated game room with dart, foosball, and more. San Antonio, Texas is the 7th largest City in the United States, andthey never get here! I have to work out orders and find distributors in other cities that will ship close to San Antonio! So, I decided to sleep on this for a night, and am now better able to reduce the profanity. First, let me preface with, I think... the beers at the Schmalz Brewing Company are top notch, among the best I have ever had. I am that guy who brings a couple ofgrowlers of beer to the family function, and I generally drive all the way from Kinderhook to Clifton Park to secure a couplespecial bottles and growler fills. I had the family (all 24 of them) pretty excited that I was going to bring a couple growlersto Black Friday Dinner, and schlepped all the way to Clifton Park after checking the website to make sure the brewery was open(it opened at 4, and there was a brew fest! yay. No mention of "no growler fills" When we arrived, there was a small crowd ofpeople having fun, enjoying beer and snacks. I went to the counter to have my growlers filled, and was surprised that there wasno line. The guy behind the counter looked at me like I was from another planet when I took out my two growlers, and said, "I'mnot filling growlers tonight dude, I've got like 150 people here tonight." "I'm not tying up my taps to fill your growlers." He couldn't have been more of an effing dick if he tried. I felt like s schmuck. I had selected three 22.5 oz bottles, andmeekly purchased them for $41, hopefully worth it, probably so, like I said, the beer is good. And left with my tail betweenmy legs, irritated the whole hour and 15 minute ride back, empty handed. I related the story/escuse, and everyone was prettyappalled, I got the entire family hooked on Bittersweet Lenny and all of the other excellent beers. Customer service isimportant. It is important in my business, and every business. If you own this brewery, heed this review and let it help youmake things like this not happen in the future.
