Im sorry the service was less then usual. I felt like we were just a side distraction to what the Waitress was really focused... on, prepping the restaurant for the evening time. Our food was dry and not tasty. I had to ask for salt, napkins, that was likean inconvenience to the waitress.. IDK maybe it was the end of her shift? Visited Basil?s early in July and the food was delicious! I purchased the salmon salad and it was perfect! My mother purchased... the chicken tenders, and they were a bit pink, but still pretty good! Service was slow, there was a sign for help wanted on thefront window. But overall pretty good food for the price! Read more
Coming through town and stopped in for dinner. The wait staff was attentive and polite. We were sat very quickly. Nice... atmosphere but the temperature was artic. My wife wore my zip up sweater but it didn't help much. Subtracted a star for that. Nopleasant at all. On to the food. Huge portions. I had the braised short rib over risotto with roasted veggies. Absolutely adelight. Meat was tender with flavorful sauce. Risotto was thick and creamy with cheese oh so rich. Roasted vegetables wereBrussels, peppers and onions cooked perfectly. My spouse had the salmon salad. Salmon was cooked to perfect. It was a giantsalad and she particularly loved the candied nuts. Overall the food is top shelf. Service is perfect. If I could I would give ZERO stars for very poor service. Went to Basils, Troy for lunch last Monday with a friend. I am... vegetarian and ordered the basils pasta (it comes with several veggies) because I did not want it tossed in oil, I requested itbe served with the Cajun sauce. The wrong order was brought out, I was given a Cajun pasta in the Cajun sauce. Not what I hadordered. I informed the server and she apologised and took the dish back to replace it. I ordered fries to eat while I waited(those were actually pretty good) The replacement that came out was also wrong - this time I was served plain pasta without anyveggies or toppings? The server who brought out the pasta was not the same server who took my order. So I went back to theserver who took my order and she was just as shocked as I was !? She said she informed the kitchen staff exactly what I orderedand she didn?t know why they messed up again ?! By this time my friend had finished her meal. I just got a cup of soup andleft. They comp?ed my cup of soup but I am really unsure why it was so hard to get an order right especially when the place wasalmost empty, maybe three tables were occupied.
