The worst Steak and Shake I have ever been to. Drive thru order only, ordered Large Onion rings, stuffed into a small... container,, soggy, not crisp at all. Tried to place order on line, unable to do so. Could not call in an order. I eat Steak andShake where ever I can find them when traveling and this in Troy, OH is in my opinion the worst and I am surprised Corporateeven allows this restaurant to stay open. Read more
We came here to grab some dinner after going to the Strawberry festival here in Troy,OH. The food was super hot and fresh going... thru the drive thru. I got a 3 piece chicken tenders and they ended up giving me 4! My husband got a garlic steak burger whichare normally really messy at the other locations and hard to eat but this one came in a box wrapped so nicely in their waxpaper. My family and I have been going to this steak and shake since it opened. For the last few years the place has declined in... service and cleanliness. A lot of times you can walk in and see multiple tables with previous customers' old food left withoutanybody cleaning them off. You sit down and notice food on the dividing walls as well as sticky floors and a lot of times foodon your seat before you sit down. Service has gotten so bad that I had a waiter lie to me about regular fries that had beencooked in very old oil which left burnt specs all over the fries and when confronted the waiter tried to explain that it was theseasoning and there was nothing they could do about it. Our burgers were raw in the center and we never got refills. This wasafter we waited 10 minutes to get our drinks after taking our order and watching other people that came in after us get theirfood first. I then spoke to the manager about the service and the food. He explained to me that I wasn't the only onecomplaining about the oil the fries were cooked in and informed me the oil hadn't been changed in weeks while he was onvacation. I explained that the waiter tried to tell me it was seasoning and the manager again said no it was old oil. Afteryears of being a loyal customer I am no longer going back to this particular steak and shake. It is too dirty, food isn't rightand staff doesn't seem to care to clean or take care of the customer. The manager is a great guy and has always helped out. Mostof the crew could learn a thing or two from him. I have had friends that worked there and they said, "If you think the front isso dirty and disgusting you should see where the food and shakes are made. No one cleans the areas at all and there is alwaysold shake residue around the shake machine and old food around the prep stations!" I will not be going back again. Read more
I went here last year in May from a road trip that I was taking. I've never been to a Steak 'n Shake before. The place feels... like a diner, but it's actually geared as a family restaurant. The service was decent and the food was close to average, butbetter than Wendy's. This is a great place to grab a quick bite rather than dining in with family because it gets very busy andpacked around dinner time when I got there. Read more
They are never open for any regular hours. Food is the worst if you find them open. I think place is being used to laundry drug... money or something else questionable. They are not open enough to pay the electric bills on the place Read more
