Steak and crispy onions was out of this world. And I hate onions. Fantastic waitress. Great experience!
Sad to say our dinner wasn?t good. I know restaurants are having issues with staffing.. but.. waitress was not good. Food just... ok.. waitress mixed up what was on checks (4 couples) brought bread when everyone was done. I had been here before and it wasgreat. I truly hope it gets better so it stays in business. My wife and dined at The Caroline on 07/19/2022 and had dined at this restaurant several times in the past 2 - 3 years. We had... an early dinner (5:15 pm) on the outdoor patio which is nice. Our server was efficient but not friendly or personable in any way-- not even a smile. In her defense, she could have used more help which caused the service to be slow, but not terrible. We hadwine by the glass -- the pours are very generous and the wine was good for the price. They make a nice martini, as well. I had afilet mignon with onion rings and also the French onion soup. My wife had a seafood entre. We were generally pleased with thefood, especially the steak. I would love to give The Caroline five stars -- we live in Troy and enjoy dining there. However,until they improve their service and the demeanor of their staff, I cannot give this place 5 stars. That said, we willdefinitely return and will take our friends. Had reservations but had to remind them we were there as we arrived early. Waitress was excellent. Food great. Very enjoyable.... Bourbon mushrooms, caesar salad with crab cakes, & halibut! We would definitely visit again. -only negative was at 9:03 theybrightened the lights in our area-like they wanted us to hurry. Our reservation was at 8:00 but didn't get our table until 8:45.That was only negative issue I had. Read more
Appetizer wasn't very good(crabcakes) for the price. Entree was delicious. Service was terrible, our waitress made us feel like... we didn't belong there and heard her talking about another customer because the customer asked her how much a soft drink was.She is Definitely in the wrong profession. As one of the PREMIER restaurants of the Dayton region, The Caroline made a very quick appearance on my Dayton Region restaurant... list. I ordered the house filet and with every bite I gave ample pause to reflect on how well the piece was prepared andcooked. Damn. My guest's steak, The Caroline House Steak, which is a 10oz Angus sirloin was JUST AS GOOD as my filet. Simplyincredible. This establishment can legitimately be considered a steak house and it features a few fine items outside of the beefspectrum like seafood and pasta. We also ordered ahi tuna and then crab cakes and honestly, the night could've stopped thereand it would've been a success and a wonderful night out. To the owners of this establishment I say "Bravo!" and a big thanksto adding to Troy's small-business friendly culture. Read more
