This is only on the food. I have been here before, and the service is pretty good, and I got my food to go, so I waited at the... bar until it was ready. The waitress was pleasant and I got my food pretty quick. I ordered nachos and a burrito to go, and itwas over $20. I was surprised at how small the nachos are. They were tasty, but I was expecting more. The burrito was on thesmall side as well. This is a dine in Mexican, so maybe they are not used to getting to go orders. I was disappointed in what Igot, because it was undersized, but it tasted good. So the question is, would I go back. I would if I was dining in. The staff was great and our server was phenomenal. However the food was bland and it was kinda gross to see that they leave the... "salsa" for the chips out on the table in the open in wait of someone to be seated. The salsa tasted like marinara sauce and wasroom temp. The only flavorful thing on my plate was the beans. The food came out 5-10 mins after ordering. Would only recommendif you want a quick bite. Read more
Called to see if they had pazole and they said they didn’t, then they called me back saying they did so I placed a order for... two small bowls and what I got was a small container of bones and juice… seriously as I’m from out of town and hungry nowI’m stuck at the hotel eating $4.50 top ramen…. My first time at Casa Baeza, my wife and I enjoyed the experience, song, dance, drink, and food. The chips and salsa was... amazing, I added some habanero salsa to mine because why not? ???? But let me back up a bit, the entrance and the mood set fromoutside to the walk in was quite thrilling, the artwork around the restaurant, the subtle details you may miss if you aren'tpaying attention, definitely a place when you make multiple visits you will find something new each time. The staff wasfriendly, professional, and a riot at times ???? we enjoyed the drinks, shots and house margaritas. We ordered asada tacos, Itook time to dress mine up with grilled jalapenos and added my salsa mix I created on the spot using the ingredients available,that's a pro tip I might share next time ???? Every ingredient was perfect, I don't say this often. From the beginning to theend the experience was full of flavor and story. I can see why there is a vibe of love and passion in this place. The first day I went they were out of the carne asada so I had two tacos that were really good. The second day when I came back... they had my carne asada and it did not disappoint. The margaritas are good and strong enough for even my iron lover. Read more
+ I want to start by saying the wait staff was very friendly, and that made my experience much better, we just had some... issues.. - I asked for all rice, no beans, but it came out with beans. - Not a fan of the Chile Verde. I feel like the meatseemed a little dry, which is weird because it's in a stew. - My tortillas never came out and I had to ask for it again. Theyended up bringing the wrong type of tortilla. - The Pastor burrito was bland. Beans were bland and seemed somewhatundercooked. - The guacamole did not have enough flavor either. - The Classic Margarita tasted like plain mixer and we askedfor no salt, but it came with salt. The menu has all the stuff most would be looking for. And one thing I think many wouldn't expect. Everytime I'm in Truckee, I... make sure to stop by here to eat. And I usually try and take a friend as well. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive.And the food is delicious. It's tucked along a side road, so can be difficult to find.
