We've been going to PJs for years. The food has always been good & the setting is unbeatable. But, we will no longer be patrons... of PJs due to their "22% MANDATORY" tip policy. This is nuts! In case you've forgotten (as much of the service industry has) a)tips are optional & based on the service delivered, & b) 15% is ok/good service, 18% is very good, 20% is excellent. So, nomatter how your staff performs you're treating them to an off-the-charts, beyond excellent tip. This is not ok & I hope otherswill skip PJs for this ridiculous & greedy policy. Makes me so sad as PJs/Tahoe Mountain Club used to be a great entity when itwasn't run by Paradigm. Read more

Update from September 2022. Giving PJ’s another chance was a mistake. Food is worse than ever. I’ve never had polenta so... bad, runny Server admitted that the bacon my wife added to her salad was old and should have been thrown out. Last straw.Never again and I love 2 minutes away. Read more

We showed up on July 3rd with a reservation. P.J.'s had no reservation for us. They said they were fully booked. We were very... disappointed to say the least! Just before we headed away they said they could fit us in! We were obviously very relieved. Allbut one of us had the salmon. It was excellent! Very flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The other person had the Tri Tipsteak sandwich. She wasn't that impressed. Read more

We had our wedding at pjs a little over a week ago now and I can’t say enough about how incredible the staff and coordinator... there are. The event flowed so effortlessly and smoothly and the staff was incredibly friendly. No one ever waited in a long barline (they had 3 bartenders for our event of a little over 100 guests) and more than enough wait staff to get the plated mealout to everyone in a very timely manner. And the food…. The chef is amazing and our surf and turf dinner was curatedperfectly. Still dreaming about this awesome day and so grateful to all of the people who made it happen. Read more

Great Menu, excellent food, as fresh as it can be, the poke salad was better any any I have tried in the past I'm talking San... Francisco restaurants. Beautiful presentation. Wonderful peaceful setting. The reason for 3 stars is due to app ordering Menu, also pre pay for food and gratuity, 3 options 18% 20% and 25%. I have no problem with top gratuity if and once I receiveexcellent service, all plates where left on the table no one checked if we would to some water. Also by pre paying make it lessdesirable to order more food and drinks. If the setup of ordering, tips, and service don't change I don't think I will make aneffort to come back. Read more

I recently got married this past August at PJ's and it was absolutely incredible! I am so happy I was able to find this place... because it fit mine and my husband's personality so well. Dana was so wonderfully helpful throughout the entire process. She wasso professional and patient with all the questions I had, and I had a lot! When we first visited PJ's it was in January andcovered in snow but I could still picture how beautiful a wedding would be there. When we visited the second time it was for ourmenu tasting. It was important to me that I find a place that could have vegan options for me and PJ's definitely delivered. IfI had requested it, they would have made the entire menu vegan but I opted for vegetarian with vegan options and the food wasdelicious! We got so many compliments that the food was not only delicious but also pleasantly unique for a wedding. We had abuffet style of enchiladas with cilantro rice, pesto pasta with vegetables and truffle potatoes, and the best beet salad I willever eat. Even people who don't typically eat beets enjoyed this salad! The chef and staff did an amazing job! Everything wasso well organized and put together exactly how we wanted. If you're thinking about getting married or even just dining inTruckee, PJ's is absolutely worth checking out. We could not have picked a better venue if we had to do this all over again.Thank you Dana and PJ's!! Read more
