We are local and always love dining at Truckee Tavern. Great food. Great outdoor seating w views of the mountains. Recently we... had a special date and the hostess and servers went the extra mile to give us a special table. Decent place for a steak and atmosphere. I was going to order the chicken, but they were out (it happens). A friend and I... ordered Medium-Rare, but got closer to Medium.. .was still good. Old-Fashioned was not watered down, thankfully. The Mac 'nCheese is pretty tasty. Read more

I enjoyed dinner on the balcony for my birthday yesterday. We shared the starter side salad which was light and fresh. The... roasted chicken was comforting and the Yukon mashed potatoes were also satisfying. My husband had a delicious ribeye steakcooked to perfection. He had mac and cheese as his side--so yummy. Great location, great service, and super yummy food. The ambiance was incredible and the servers know their stuff ..... right... down to wine pairing with meals but also what food goes well with the local beer. Read more
I give this place five stars and here is why.. Annie at the bar was extremely welcoming and really cared to make sure we had a... great experience. The food could’ve been tastier but that’s ok! One thing that I will address as a concern is that no placeshould have multiple servers hanging out in the kitchen area talking … the bartender had to play hostess and tend to a busybar while others were hanging out in the back.
