The food was good, although the collard greens weren't that flavorful, the Mac and cheese was really good, the fried chicken is... crunchy and fresh tasting. I also had pork chops that were amazing. The rice and gravy flavor was good but some rice was hard.The cabbage is the best I've had in the state of Georgia. This was my first vist at CGC, I was greeted with a vibrant welcome by the young lady at the register (sorry I didnt get your... name, but you are the one with the beautiful Afro/Puffs and amazing personality). The gentlemen on the food line were veryfriendly/professional greeting everyone with hello and a smile. The hot food items look very appealing, not all of the menuitems are on the food line, they are made to order, example the Fried Fish I ordered. The food was a little salty yet edible. Ifeel the prices are slightly higher than other places however, I was able to get 3 servings from my Spaghetti plate I ordered, Ifeel you get what you pay for, the proportions are large, I wouldnt be able to buy groceries and cook this same meal for what Ipaid for it nor get the amount of food at the fast food eateries in the area. I went back to CGC within days of my first visit,same warm greeting, I tried the Beef Short Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn Bread muffins the meal wasdelicious. I met the Owner who was sitting in the Dining Room, he was VERY nice thanking customers for eating at hisestablishment, I told him I returned within days of my initial visit and that the previous meal was somewhat on the salty side,yet edible (of course everyone's taste is different) He apologized and ensured me they would be more mindful of that when theyuse multiple seasoning containing sodium. I will say the meal I purchased on the 2nd visit was not salty, it was very good. Thiscafe is a great addition to the Tucker area, for fresh home cooked meals, they have something for everyone including Salads,Baked Chicken, Turkey etc. They have desserts however, I haven't tried any of them, I will on my next visit! First time trying out this place?lemme just say overall I?d give this place a 4/10 and that?s only because the customer service... was superb! The food was just God awful in my opinion. FLAVORLESS!! As pictured I ordered smothered chicken with rice & greensand butter beans. The chicken was just ok, and the beans I consumed tasted weird. My immediate thought was is this poisoned?!?The greens I thought we be hitting, but no they tasted like they were cooked in water only. Disappointed would be anunderstatement!! I really want to return for a refund. The best thing I purchased was the red velvet cake?very moist andflavorful! The customer service and friendliness of the staff was superb. They just need to work on cooking the food withseasonings and flavor. I know many people can?t consume a lot of butter or bacon grease, but adding onions and bell peppers(flavor) can go a long way. My first time here and it felt like I was walking into a family restaurant. Great customer service, a lot of food options. I... ordered the oxtails, Mac and cheese and cabbage. Everything was delicious, I am a rice and gravy lover so I wish I would?veasked for thick gravy on my rice but that?s my fault not there?s. Definitely try them out! You won?t regret it!!!!!! Pulled up a little after 6 .. there was no line.. presentation wasn?t looking so good. I decided on just a veggie plate with... double Mac green beans and cornbread muffin. The Mac was to my liking but not my husbands as he like a more garlic taste to hisMac I like a more plain with not too much sauce nor cheese. The green beans was at least favorite and honestly I don?t thinkI?ll ever order them again from there. They were very tough. The cornbread muffin now was theeeeee BOMB.com .. it was sweet andmoist I wish I would have ordered 2 additional. The server Miss Joyce she was friendly and thanked me numerous of times forleaving a tip. It was genuine and honestly I wish I would have left more. Today was my first visit to this spot the customer service and friendliness was excellent. I tried several items. Out of... everything I ordered I like the baked turkey wings and sauteed squash. This was my first time ordering food from CGC! And I am dissatisfied. The My Mac and cheese I rate 2/10 it had no seasoning I... had to add salt and pepper, the crust was so hard I thought I was going to chip my tooth!! The collards I rate a STRONG 3/10 Ijust ended up pouring hot sauce all over so I can eat a few bites I don?t any complaints about the Chicken though! The chickenwings are pretty good here !! So we?ve been twice, and I?m ready to write a review. The food at Collard Green Café is delicious! Absolutely delicious. I?ve... had both the smoked wings and the short ribs with sides and both times the dishes have been absolutely amazing. On my firstvisit the cashier was not friendly or helpful at all. Almost rude. But the food was good so we came back. The second visit wasmuch better with the cashier being super friendly and helpful. And again, the food is DELICIOUS and you get massive portions. Welearned after the first visit, we could split one plate. They give you generous portions and that?s all you can ask for. We?lldefinitely be going back often. Read more
